I'm trading microlots on a £500 GBP account on spot FX. The commissions/spread/interest rate differentials are not that significant at all. I can still practice 2% position sizing as well, it just means that my losers are ~£10 and the winners are around the same. Basically 1 R multiple is about £10. I'm trading this size as part of my plan. This is a phase between demo and going properly live. Phase 1 - demo until profitable for at least 3 months Phase 2 (current phase) - go live with a small amount and elarn to control the person in the mirror when real money is on the line. Follow the same rules etc until demo results are replicated on a live account. Almost there with this phase. Phase 3 - go fully live. I'll probably load up about £2500 a month into the account as long as day job (IT contracting) allows. |
