Thank you, Erin. Very timely for me right now. I am doing a lot of soul searching on my life's purpose and am in the middle of a career change (for the 2nd time in my life). I like the 2-minute microphone to God metaphor. It helps me a lot. Thanks again.

This is excellent - I just did it

I had a good idea what my life purpose was and it is already in line with my entrepreneurial direction - Trading in the financial markets and apportioning a large chunk of the gains to those in need - starting with the most needy.

This is what I've written from doing the exercise. I took the heading form the article because of all the ones I wrote down it resonated with me the most. here it is:

Everyone deserves food, clothing, and shelter

And the speech:

In this day and age when the human race has evolved to a stage where we can share information in seconds, fly to the moon, kill millions of people, animals and plants with a single bomb - why is it that some of us are still dying of starvation?

Throughout time the most basic primal needs of any species have been met in the natural environment - except it seems for the most evolved and civilised species. We seem to have made our own environment so unnatural that the laws of nature and survival have been replaced with the laws of money, terror, dictatorship and greed.

Does this make you proud to be a member of the human race? Is this what all of our technological advancement is for? Surely with such incredible infrastructure in place to transport goods and commodities around the world for industrial gains there should be a system in place to ensure that every human being on the planet has access to the most basic necessities such as food, clothing and shelter.

Is money and power so important that we can allow corrupt dictators and regimes spend hundreds of millions on custom built private yachts while their people starve to death?

The problem of inequality and corrupt power is not going away. Excuses are plentiful and easy to hide behind while looking the other way knowing that you will eat a hot meal uunder a decent roof tonight. So rather than accept things the way they are why not continue exploring what actually can be done and how to make it happen. How do we get food, clothing and shelter to these people? Whos's doing it already and how can we help them do it more? What is the longer term solution to whatever's standing between people and their supplies?

Excuses are easy - who's doing the tough work and how can we help them do more of it?

That's just reaffirmed it for me that this is my purpose and what I am doing. Everything else in my work life life (current job/contract, business, trading business) is all geared to doing this.

I'm impressed . I never associate stock markets and those wealthy money-grubbers on Wall Street with this kind of mindset. Very nice

In originally floated (pun intended) the idea on this thread here which sparked a lot of discussion about resource based economies and zeitgeist movement - but the intention was to talk about what options there are right now to spread some wealth around.

Because I'm trading already it seemed like a no-brainer as the markets are accessable to anyone with a computer and the internet and there is literally access to huge chunks of the world's wealth right there..
