Seeking sales and marketing advice

Hi.

I own a small business providing a service to commercial building owners and hotels. I am doing fine thank you, but my business is at a stage where either it goes up to the next level or it will die of stagnation. So, I decided to pick the former.

I need some advice on how to hire some marketing or sales help.

Also can anyone recommend some good marketing blogs, something on par with our personal development blog (fat chance, I know there is only one Stevepavlina.com. but something close will do)

Best marketing advice that I ever got: they will never come to you - YOU have to go out and get them.

Even with regards to 'attraction' marketing, you still have to go out there and advertise in places where most of your customers will pay attention to your stuff - which also is a way of 'getting' them (in this case getting them to pay attention).

Although advertising can be deceptive unless you really know what you are doing. Most foolproof way of getting new customers is just going out and meeting them in person (or calling them on the phone).
