Default why you may consider changing ur career path?

IF you have to choose only one reason to leave ur current job and career parth what would it be ?

is it Money ? social status , challenge, independency, or something else ?

for example if you were offered 3* current salary would you leave ur job ?

Nope, I love my nonjob and I wouldn't choose another one. Working "hours" are like 3 PM to 4 PM In a few years, my response will be probably different though.

If I were offered 3x my current salary I would seriously considered it, simply because I could work that new job for one year, and then take two years off while maintaining the same lifestyle I have today throughout those 3 years.

I could use those additional two years off to launch a new business, improve as a human being, travel, etc. For me time is more precious than money, so that's something to consider.

It's funny that I just saw this post. I haven't been here in ages and I just decided that I would quit my job and change careers a few days ago. I've been unhappy with my job for a while but didn't want to just run away, like I had in the past.

Tuesday came and there was yet another meeting and more complaints. Normally I would feel bitterness, resentment anger etc. I instead just felt concern for the other person and their inability to cope with stress. I had just graduated. I decided I would resign within the month, only 2 weeks to go now.

I don't know what will happen next and that excites me, I'll work on my business and look for a different career. I'm sure things will work out for the best and lead me to my personal legend.

If I don't like my current job I'd cut it off and find something else pretty much regardless of all other factors...

it is really interesting how you guys have the courage to consider changing your career when things go extremely bad or when you find "the secret to the happiness" for the rest of your life

i wish i have the same courage to do so actually when i posted this thread i was facing this problem i am working as a developer and i like it alot and then comes an offer to become a university instructor and i had to pause ....
I like my job alot despite that i am in a small company and with only 2 developers and one project ... but i am learning and i am happy ...
so i had these arguments with my family and they said that i must be insane to refuse an offer that is at least 3 * my current salary ... prestige ...etc.

the good news that i didnt officially get the offer yet and so i dont have to choose now

haha time to think than. Whatever you choose make sure you pour your life and soul into it (or whatever you want to call it /lifeforce/energy/passion/etc.), if you can't do that I would never work there. But I already said that, before if people did not agree with me I'd be taking it personally 'there must be something wrong with me'. I changed my outlook on that completely, 'they probably just don't understand' or 'there jealous that I am capable of following myself'. The second one is way more empowering to me.
