Hey, guys! My main focus with my blog now is generating traffic and my main tool for that is guest posting. I'd like to make videos on the similar topics as my articles. I'm wondering is it an effective way to generate traffic? I'll do videos anyway at some point, but I'm thinking maybe I should do them sooner if they can serve as means of generating traffic. Any thoughts on that? |

Generally speaking videos are a great tool for improving conversions and not so much for generating traffic. Of course, there are exceptions. If a video goes viral, it'll generate a lot of traffic for you. If you get a video of yours onto a high-traffic site with people interested in your niche, it'll probably generate a lot of traffic for you. But most of the time videos are more useful as conversion tools or as content. |

I wouldn't suggest using anything other than Youtube though, as that is the only video service that Google gives preference to.

I taught this technique to a friend of mine and he has just dominated the market for his fitness videos, his traffic is just rediculous... were talking serious numbers from his 300+ videos! Download the tool that let's you upload your video to loads of video sites at once, 'Onlywire' is it? I can't remember off the top of my head now... But using that, you can make 10 videos into 200 videos that get posted all over the net. I have almost 200 videos now ready to go at the end of the year which will then become about 4000 videos... (I'm under a privacy contract atm so I can't upload them yet... don't ask!) lol! So, yes, do it, make lot's of videos.

I'm thinking of doing this also...I have a beer review channel on youtube with about 500 subscribers and over 100 videos (YouTube - Beernoob's Channel). No blog though. I'm VERY temped to create a blog for these reviews. I'll let y'all know how that goes and if I do it.
