Default Am I playing this wrong? (doubts)

I am currently self employed doing hair as my bread and butter day job. I make decent money, but not as much as I want/need, and I am just wanting to simplify and change,.

and...

I am wanting to build my personal development/ coaching for creatives business/website/ ebooks and blog which will be a lot of work to get going and to maintain. I believe I have a talent in this area, and a passion.

I am thinking about my future and not wanting to be on my feet forever, and having other options to pursue a vocation where I can do what I love and make a living (not that I don't love what I do now, I do, but it is time for a change)

So, I have agreed to take on a job as an employed person in a nicer salon, I would have perks, a receptionist, more of a cohesive and team like atmosphere, and an assistant who can help me stay on time. I have weighed out the pros and cons, and I am intrigued by not only the people I will be working with, but the organization and simplicity of the structure I would be coming into. It would also take away some of the worry and hassle.

I am used to being self employed, but am wanting to leave the place I am at for several reasons.

One of the reasons for the upcoming change is so I can worry less about that, and focus more on the other aspects of my life.

I am having serious fears and doubts. What if I lose clients because of things like parking and higher prices (but I am grandfathering some of the clients at current prices)

Does this sound like a mistake? (going to an employed position)

Lucidism is an unknown quantity at this point

Without knowing all the details - I don't think it sounds like a mistake, especially if it causes less worry. If you know you have a solid job to fall back on, maybe it can help you pursue your life coaching with less stress in your off-time.

Which path is the path of joy? Which path provokes more fear?

If this employee salon doesn't work out, can you return to the self-employed hair stylist?

Yes, but that us where the fear has been kicking in, about losing clientele.

I actually feel joy at the prospect of both, it's just the worry and second guessing myself. I am also worried about making too little money because I will be getting paid through a third party and not directly by my clients.

I suppose some of the worry now has to do with the fact that my marriage is shaky and I have high bills.

Remember that anxiety is a sign from your body that you are not focusing on what you want...

You are right now focusing on loosing clients... and what about gaining more clients? Because the location might be better, because it might be easier to get an appointment, because the salon has a large amount of walk ins.....

You made your decision, second guessing it is only going to cause you more stress and you are not going to change your mind anyway.

You won't know if it was a learning experience or a step forward in your life until you actually lived it. Until that moment, leave the worry behind and think about nice and positive things, or think about things that you can actually change.

Thank you, I think that is great advice. I suppose I will just close my eyes and do it. I did commit to it and I am not big on breaking commitments.

It will be hard to give up my self employed status, but there are payoffs, like a more cohesive atmosphere, and perhaps some new friends
