Hey Guys, Yes I did buy an existing site - lol - I wish I could say that it's a brand new site, in which case this would be extremely impressive. Paid 3000 for it, and am already on my way to paying it back. This site could be earning me my full-time income eventually. It has really high conversion rates, and the profit on each sale is enormous. You need a few hundred hits a month to make decent money. That being said, there's no organic traffic, and it relies on traffic from forums. I'm also going to be experimenting with adwords. It's 3 months old, with almost no articles and a pR0 site so there's going to be a huge amount of work getting it to the point where it's placing high in the search engines. But, I'm excited to give it a go. The first month it was live it made $150. The second month it made 778 and the third month it made 778. This month I'm hoping it'll earn close to 1500. I don't want to put the name of the site, because it relies on it's reputation, and I've put things here that are very private and I really don't want my website associated with what I've told people about me. It's crazy, but this site could be my full-time income So long as I keep my reputation up, and people like what I'm selling - I can expect that increases in traffic mean increases in income. Anyways, I hope I don't sound like I'm showing off. I'm just really excited to be in a position where I might be able to be self sufficient. I have so many dreams and I feel like this site is going to help me get there. Last edited by GreenSmoothieGirl; 04-15-2011 at 11:35 AM. |

Well I've been searching for that perfect site for ages now. I've been absolutely desperate to find something that will let me work from home and have financial freedom(eventually). I bought a few sites that relied on adsense, and realized that I was going to be fighting for a very long time to get them to the point I wanted. So when I saw this website, I knew that it had potential. The owner put her heart and soul in to it - I doubt I could have come up with anything remotely as nice. Also, as soon as I went to it, I wanted to purchase from the site, and so did my family. That was a good indication to me that it was a site that could sell, because I don't want to buy things online very often. I got the site early on, before it had a chance to take off (only three months old and pr0) so it's value was considerably lower than it would have been had it have been an older and higher ranking site. I also realize that it isn't exactly my passion, so I'll probably end up selling it eventually when the right offer comes along and start a site that I'm in love with. Looking for something I can do for 5, 10 or more years - a stable longterm thing. Will probably keep it 3 - 4 months until I can bring it up to the point where I can get a fair amount for it and flip it. So far the highest month, it received three hundred unique visitors. I can only imagine how well it'll do once it receives 2000 or more!! I love reading stories about people's success on the forums - I find it so motivating. I especially like Rebecca's story with world-of-lucid-dreaming - can't believe she's making her full-time income off her site :0 |

have you considered creating a facebook page for it, and using facebook ads to create more traffic? From what I can gather it is an inexpensive way of creating more traffic and targeting the right customers. How to Promote Your Business on Facebook Edit: Not my link, but something I found online and found to be very helpful |

Very nice! That makes me want to create an affiliate site. My blog gets a lot more than 300 uniques a month, but I'm not making bank just yet. I suppose that's the nature of a blog.. and.. not selling anything, lol. I oughta create a product. Thanks for the inspiration, and I wish you luck! |

this is pretty awesome! I have sites that have 1,000+ visitors and one health site with 4,000 visitors, but I never see such sales. I guess I only have adsense and a few affiliates on it... im going to do some changes and see what I can do with it. this is really inspiring, your making money with that many visitors, thats pure quality! =) |

I am currently using ad sense. I can see it making a good amount of money, but $600 with only 300 unique daily visitors is amazing. I don't really know what kind of product I can sell on my website. Do you use some kind of affliate program (someone else products for commission) or do you sell your own products?

Ron, I don't really feel comfortable giving the domain name because I've shared a lot of personal things on this forum, and I wouldn't want it to be connected to my website. Thanks everyone for your encouragement |

Congrats GreenSmoothieGirl, sounds fab...well done I wish I had the knack for understanding all the technical jargon like placing it "high in google rankings"...this is the stuff that does my head in. Sounds like your quite good at understanding how to aggregate content, and gain traffic...great skill to have. |

I'd suggest keeping this one, improving it, while working on your passion and only once your passion starts making decent money, selling this one (if you still want to). I believe having a few hundred extra a month without any conscious work is worth way more than having some extra cash in your hand right now.... (unless they offer you a huge sum like $20.000 dollars or something | |

I don't know what your experience is with the web but if it was my site, I wouldn't sell it for a while. If the future looks good and I've got the time, I'd be hanging onto it. I'm fairly green in the IM department though. |

Once it's paid for itself, then it's generating straight profit. Why in the world would you give that up? I've learned many a time that when you sell something, it's gone. Someone should invent the term, "seller's remorse". |
