Default Best Free/Affordable Ways to Promote Your Internet Business?

What do you guys think are the best cheap/free ways to promote your internet business beyond the obvious spamming, facebook pages, telling your sphere of influence, etc.

Also what is your opinion on small prize giveaways for bringing traffic to your site?

Where would your target market hangout? Post on websites tailored to their interests.

Also, printed publications could work.

Guest blogging is one of the best.

It really depends on your topic and audience, but it can create some interest if it's a good or unique giveaway.

Right now I'm taking advice from one of the major business people who made money online and that is to experiment with one, become an expert, and not do everything at the same time.

I opted for facebook fan page. Right now I'm giving away access to my video's, but I'm considering putting my video's on for free and changing it to download a free ebook + 10% discount on my services.

It would be easier to give an advice if you would explain what kind of online business you're running.

If you're running a blog, one of the best ways to get traffic is to write guest posts for established blogs - people not only read your post but share it on various social media platforms, which generates even more traffic. Guest posting is also not as difficult as it may look like, because most people submit low quality articles as guest posts - therefore if you put in time and efforts to write a good guest post, there's a big change of getting published.

The easiest blogs to get published on are the ones which are made from guest posts, like Dumb Little Man - Tips for Life, TheChange |, PickTheBrain | Motivation and Self Improvement, etc. It might be little bit harder with blogs which only take guest posts every once in a while, but it's still worth a try. Best thing about guest posts is that you're not losing anything - if your guestpost gets rejected, you can always send it to another blog, and in case it has no luck at all, you can publish it on your blog.

Default What Has Been Working?

I can see that you've been writing articles since 2007 and the website is still running? What has worked for you so far? What hasn't worked when it comes to marketing?

Most of those articles are from an older blog that I simply decided to move over to my new website, HomeList.org. My website is only a few months old (taken a while to build because I'm doing it all by myself and I'm learning mysql, php, css, javascript, linux, etc)

I'm in the early stages of running my own Home Search Engine/Home Listing website, similiar to Zillow.com or Trulia.com (my website is in my signature)

If you would like to start with a free method, try building good content squidoo pages and hubpages for affiliate offers. Write some articles for ezinearticles and put a link back to your web 2.0 pages. This will help them rank higher. Rinse and repeat till you make some sales.
