Default A product geared toward action

Looking for opinions on this.

Over the past couple years, I've collected some very good techniques for getting my butt in gear. I've experimented, I've read (A LOT), I've achieved and I've experimented some more. Now I'm looking to create a product along these lines.
Here's what I'm thinking:

- offer an e-book/audio book. Pack it with techniques, exercises and inspiration
- gonna draw from a number of disciplines, from business management to personal development to NLP
- themes are going to be procrastination, figuring out what it is you want, time management, motivation
-there will be a repeat section in the end. With 90% of PD books I read, I go through them once and I never open them again. What I'm going to do at the end is have an accelerated version. It's purpose is to refresh as well as give an overview of what you've learned. I want it to be no more than 10-15 minutes of audio.

Other stuff:

-some humour to keep it from being boring
-hit on as many rep systems as possible. Lots of pictures and diagrams for the visual learners, MP3's for the audio learners... don't know about you kinesthetics yet
-it will not be a book where you simply learn. It's going to be a learn-do format. A guided tour into the world of achieving.

So ya, throw it at me. Do you think there is a market for this? Am I wasting my time? Things you'd like to see? Things you think I should drop? What would add value? Price points?

Thanks for your help guys.

-Tim

I think there is a market for this. I have no idea for price points at this moment, I guess it depends on what is there and how you position it. I really like the idea of the learn-do, I'll be interested to see how you might implement that.

Personally, I find it feels really good to have done something that I've been putting off. So somehow if you can embed that. A way for people to recognize and reward themselves for actually doing something on their list.

I want to know how to manage information. I make to-do lists for myself all the time, in various formats. But they don't always seem that effective. Half the battle in getting things done seems to be knowing what needs to be done, in what order, and when. I've been through it all, going back to the Franklin Planner days etc. I've noticed there are a gazillion task list type apps for my phone. But maybe something new an innovative for the information management piece of it? Just thinking out loud here.

Other than the multiple modalities, what you've described sounds a lot like my blog. Maybe we can collaborate?

The idea is still in it's infancy at the moment. I'm finishing up a couple of other projects right now and then I'll get on it.

Kinesthetics can learn through the experience of doing the task, so throw in a few tactile exercises and they should get the info well that way. Remind them that it is about learning by doing so there's no failure, etc. From what I understand the experimenting mindset is similar to Ferris's stuff.

Maybe divide it up into different themes, and have at least one tactile exercise and technique for each theme. But a lot of kinesthetic types just realize info sinks in best for them when they actually do something so it is just a matter of inspiring them to go out and do it.

ETA: And if I'm not mistaken, kinesthetics also connect to learning through emotionalizing the experience. (I think the tactile of action is similar to the tactile quality of emotion for the kinesthetic learner??) So maybe have an exercise of visualizing yourself doing the thing injected with lots of emotion.
