Nothing as yet, but I am working on a few options. Which I think could translate to generating something. I suppose the greatest challenge is to not just create something for the sake of creating it. But work to create a product that is worthy of it's origins, and that will actually achieve something like greater exposure of the material, improved understanding or something else along these lines. |

The only advantage of the lack of copyrights that I've taken is a free one. I have collected and archived every single one of Steve's newsletters since day 1. I update the archive whenever a new newsletter is released and I plan to keep doing so until the day Steve decides to stop writing them. If you're interested, a link to the archive can be found in my signature.

From day one of my education in the media arts (first in television production and the in 3d computer animation and then throughout my career in each and graphic arts and web site design) I've had it hammered into me to not copy work belonging to anyone else. While Steve made it clear that his work is up for grabs, it still doesn't sit well with me to use his words for my financial gain. Maybe that's just me, but it somehow feels icky to me. Really, if I were to use his words, for financial gain or just because he is much more literate than me, I would definitely credit the work back to him completely. It's the only way I could sleep that night. |

I came across a site with his article on it. The links were still in tact, and the owner credited him, but I believe they were at least making Adsense money off of it. The only thing I can see being bad about that is possible duplicate content penalties from Google. Google is supposed to be able to see the origin vs the copy of the content, but if you search for personal development on google, the results are a little weird. Rather than Steve's site being #1 like it used to, it's now #2, and the link is pointing not to the actual site, but to Steve's "personal development" category. I don't know if that's new, or if it's because of the no copyright thing, but it's interesting nonetheless. |

I found this site by accident. Googling How to Generate More income for my business. Anyway, we have a meat market that has been in business for 25 years. What can we do to generate more business and more income? We have a website, a facebook page and a group page, and twitter. Also on Merchant Circle.com. The last couple of years business has been declining. We aren't broke, but we sure aren't making any money right now. Any suggestions?

Well, I think you'll never be successful if you will copy the way of others. You may adopt some points to yourself, but not every step. Honestly, i'll never put a button “DONATION“ at any of my sites. Sorry, but it's a shame to ask for donations if you are a clever, healthy person. Sorry, this is just my frankly opinion. I'm not trying to jump on somebody who like a donation business model. |

| I did use his list of 200+ values in an iPhone app (which helps you find out which are your top values). Not that there's anything wrong with taking a really amazing public domain resource and getting the value out to people, but I'd rather create new value. I had an enormously fun time writing Solo Flight (a personal development novel). It was incredibly challenging to explore these ideas and apply them in new (fictional) ways myself.

I'm curious, does Facebook really make a difference for you? I frequent a lot of local merchants but I would never follow them on Facebook. Because, why? How visible are you in your local area? Has increasing your visibility online helped at all? |
