Hey I'm not looking to start a business or become a millionaire, but I need to make some money to go to college, and I'd like to make more than minimum wage. I’m asking specifically about online opportunities, because I have some computer skills, and I’m guessing there are online job opportunities out there. I’d like to make between 10-20 bucks an hour, and I don't really want to code, but something like writing seems like a great option, or anything else online or that I can do at weird hours on the computer. If I were going to seriously write articles (like 3-4 hours per day) what is the best way to make money? Thanks a ton Erock Last edited by Erock; 04-02-2007 at 02:19 AM. |

Writing original articles can get you WAAAYY more than 10-20 hr. It will take some time, like months but you could be making thousands. Checkout Residual Websites .com - Turnkey INSTANT adsense ready websites. The Easy Way passive income solution. The sites are pre-made and all you have to do is enter your articles. Then take your articles and sumbit them to article directories. Just google "Article Directory". You'll gain tons of backlinks and targeted traffic this way and within a few months of being consistent with this you'll be making some good money as well as having good search engine ranking. |

I think making money online will not be easy or fast, it'll take a time and some effort, writting articles is good idea, but just be sure that you'll find a good number of people intersted for the subject.

Alternatively, you can consider elance.com, rentacoder.com and offer freelance writing services and start bidding for projects. Never tried it myself but heard people doing so and think they can earn about $5-$20 for an article (depending on the quality of the article).

Options that come to mind for me (I've never tried to be a writer, so the list will be short and perhaps wrong, but hopefully it will help you generate ideas):
Just thoughts. My advice would be to not look for the best way to get money, but instead try as many as possible, and use the ones you like/work.

If you can write good articles fast, you could try out Associated Content. (You need to be from the States to be eligible.) Quote:
The good thing about them, from a writer's point of view, is that you can submit on a non-exclusive rights basis, and retain your rights to your article, so you can use it elsewhere. There's more information in the FAQs. Belle

Try hitting some webmaster forums and look for the forums that will allow you to offer your writing services. I did this at the end of last year and I ended up with more work then I knew what to do with! There are many, many webmasters willing to pay for original articles. Some tips from what I learned: Try freelance.com they have a lot of writing jobs. You bid on projects, I know many people making pretty good money. Make a small website or blog and put up a few writing samples for people to view. Because they will ask. And lay out your policies or people will hound you. When you offer your articles - set a minimum amount they have to buy from you. And give a discount for larger quantities. Most importantly cap the amount of words you are willing to write per article. Don't make the mistake of underpricing yourself too much. I did that in the begining... Many people don't want to "pay" for the articles. But if you tend to write quick and set a minimum, you can still make some nice cash. Lastly, if you are familiar with blogging, there are many blogging jobs you can check out as well. Some pay-per-post and some are revenue share. Good Luck!

I like this post on YoungsterInc about 'How to Make some Money as a Youngster Blogger?' It is written for youngster, but I think it will apply to you. At the end of the day, it is not really about making, it is about how many people you help, then the money would come. Some tips from YoungsterInc are: 1) Choose a niche (specific) topic that you are absolutely passionate about to discuss on your blog. The narrower the topic, the better it would be. Setup up multiple blogs if you are have different interest. Don’t try to do too much on one blog. 2) Write really really good article on your blog(s). Articles that can truly help people. If you are very very good content, readers will pass it along to their friends. Word of mouth marketing is the most effective marketing on the planet. 3) Identify and research other blogs that focuses on the same topics. If you think their blog is pretty good, you can do one for of the following: Review: Youngster Inc. » Blog Archive » How to Make some Money as a Youngster Blogger? Good luck! |
