I use adsense and I know a lot of other people use it as a way to monetize their online activities. It is a good source of income for us. I believe the current trigger amount to receive a check from google is $100 in earnings. I know several people who have added adsense to their site and through inattention, etc. have little if any earnings. My question is what percentage of those who sign up for adsense ever earn enough to receive a check? I think five percent would be an over estimate of the number who make any money and would not be surprised if it was under one percent. What do you think? |

I think that it is just a matter of time if you have around 100-200 visitors a day and the ads are properly placed. I earned enough for a check and I have the ads just on a few pages with minimal traffic. It took me six months though |

The checks come, it just takes time to get them. You also have to actively manage the sites, tweaking the positions, filtering low paying ads etc. I changed the ad positions on a couple of my sites and they went from making around 20 cents a day to almost a dollar day Once you reach the $100 mark it takes time to get the check. I don't understand their payout system. From the time you make the first 100 it could take 45-60 days to get a live check. |

Took me over a year for the first, then 10 months for the second, and still waiting for the third, but 12 months looks about right. It is free money, but I wouldn't rely on it solely for income (as some people do). I don't aggressively push Adsense, though I would like to include it in the blog in my signature. I think it would make some money. After the site redesign, I will. Kenneth |

I signed up nov 2006, got the first money mar 2007, after five months. I got the money as direct deposit, not as cheque, and yes, the money did arrive. Since the payment I got $87, so only $13 to go for the next payment. Love you! |

Good point. I bet Google gets to keep a lot of that money. There are a lot of people out there that set up AdSense with good intentions, but have didn't have the motivation to keep up with it. It's kind of like rebate programs. Lots of people sign up, but few ever send in the rebate. |
