I think it's time i got a job again... Initially i was very pleased that id made viable passive incomes onlne... but ive come to realise im missing out a LOT on social interaction with people. So ive decided to get work in a retail store (clothing store) just for the sake of it. I dont really need the money anymore because ive set up my income streams with affiliate marketting and earning decently actually...but ive realised that although i have more money... It's like i'm a social recluse. What do you guys think? I think having passive income is fantastic - never say no to more money...but getting a job you enjoy is equally as important |

I feel the same way!!! In fact, I was doing solely Internet marketing, but then somehow I was missing the social aspect of my life (which is very important I think), and now have a full time job as a web developer, while doing the IM thing part time. P.S: Glad to hear that Kyle & Carson's program (and some) seems to make a difference in your life. I guess it's worth joining then right? |

What about getting involved with local professional groups. For example there is BNI, Rotary, kiwanis Club, The Breakfast Club, Toastmasters, PMI etc. If you like technology try getting involved with local user groups. If none of the above exists in your community then start your own chapter. If nothing doesn't interest you then by all means go retail! |

I don't know, I'd probably recommed against getting a menial job if you don't need the money. You'd just be trading away pieces of your life for a small fee and that's not a smart transaction. It's also probably the most shallow "interaction" you can get with the public. Why are you on this earth? It certainly isn't to spend time in a mall shilling low-quality consumables! Being "around" people can be solved simply by switching to a laptop with wifi and working outside. I don't like the "Starbucks is my office" types either but there's a reason they bring their laptops there and sit for hours: it works. If for whatever reason you don't have family or friends to spend all that free time with then I agree with the above recommendations for charity work and joining professional organizations. Failing everything else - if you have your heart set on retailing then start your own business, like a weekend flea-market table or something that will give you the interaction you need but also be building your own dreams and not someone else's. Hey, if you've successfully started your own passive income business - look into your local community college and see about giving a class on it! |

How about getting employees? That way you can grow your internet marketing business and be with other people at the same time. This video might help you. It is better for your internet marketing business to have employees and you get the social interation with them at the same time. On the other hand joining Toastmaster is also a great suggestion. You should also go through Steves find your purpose material. Last edited by Brutha; 03-31-2007 at 09:55 PM. |

i 100% go back on my words in my original post. I've been on the lookout for a job in retail and friends of mine were telling me how their boss is a jerk and all the other things that reminded me of what its like to be a slave to the system (dictated lunch hours, overtime, etc etc). I have martial arts training 6:30pm every evening... i got a call from an employer who yawned when i explained my commitments over the phone and told me "it wont work out" because i wont be at their beckon call for rotating shifts well screw it, i cant believe i considered going back to employment... you guys are right i need to take up something like toastmasters instead... yeesh...never ever ever again! |

LOL - once you are out of that type of environment or at least realize the negativity it presents, you'll never want to go back. There are plenty of opportunities to get together with like minded people. Hang out in a bookstore near the self help books, head to meetup.com and look for local entrepreneur or Law of Attraction groups, etc. It is good that you quickly came to your senses, because we all know how the people we spend the most time with can influence our lives. And if you are spending it with unhappy, complaining employees, then that is what you will shift towards becoming. |

How about creating a community by teaching others by way of seminars via online, telephone or personally. Why not be around and dialogue with those who have the save interests has you? I'm sure there are people out here who would love to learn how create passive income and be at home. Also, go to events and seminars to meet other people like yourself. Build relationships and bridges. Won't Be Denied! C.F. Jackson Lighting 1,000 Dreams by the Day! | |
