Default Coaching Training Question

Hi,

I am a teacher and have been also doing test prep classes for the private high school entrance exams, and some SAT verbal prep classes for about 5 years. Realizing that I want to expand this, I have decided to do some serious marketing. That part is coming along nicely at the moment.

But, as I talk to my students I see such a need for sharing with them much more than academics....tools to help them fulfill their potential, get their intentions clear, learn to focus and acheive succes....somehow I thought this might be a business I could add to my repertoire...so much of the test prep is building confidence, positive thinking, focus, really pumping them up....getting them to want success and visualize and acheive that success.

As I started my research, I discovered that there is a big trend in life and purpose coaching for middle and high school ages. This seems to be what I have been pondering and where my expertise lies.

Does anyone recommend a specific training program or school for coaching?
There are so many on the web....I would really appreciate any suggestions, feedback, ideas or recommendations.

Thank you
Mary

I'm going to plug Coach Training Alliance.

I did some research and found for the $, they offered a decent program.
I must say I was happy with it, I learned a lot (maybe not everything, but that comes with getting out into the world and doing your thing! )

Here's a link:Life Coaching Certification - Life Coach Training

I'm sure there are other great training programs as well...I can only speak from my own experience.

Default Thank you Annie!

Annie,

Thank you for the suggestion....it is exactly what I was looking for.

I really want to get started with this....I will probably do more small group sessions because most of my students come from middle to low income situations....a lot of what I have been doing in the test prep is connected to coaching...and I really want to take it farther, to be better trained and do more with the coaching as well as the academics.

It is amazing to watch the transformation in a 13 or 16 year old when they begin to grasp the concept, start to focus on the positive and and experience the success in using the LoA ...I am sure that you must see this all the time....

I will keep you posted...and hopefully as I continue on my journey, I can be a positive affect in the lives of these kids too...

Thank you again
Mary
