It depends if by "marketing" you mean just marketing, as in just how to write a sales page or a good title to hook a reader, or if you mean all of online sales, meaning how to build a website and sell stuff online.

He's probably capable enough to see what links bring traffic to his website.

Well yes, but at this point he probably doesn't monitor any of that stuff himself. He does have something like 80 employees doing all of the technology side of his business for him.

He has never actually "sold" Marketing 101, just given it away as a bonus with other products he sells. I think he just had someone put it up online so he could link to it in his sales emails or in responses to customers after they've bought a product, saying "here's your bonus" or something.

I don't think he actually intended for it to be found by a random person online. I had to do a Google "site:http://www.getaltitude.com" to find it. The average internet user doesn't even know how to do this (keep in mind that most of us forum peeps are in the top 5% of "tech-savvy-ness" compared to the average population).


And either way, it's a great video series for beginners and even has a great "headline formula" for writing great headlines, even if you already are good at writing sales material, so anyone interested in that should watch it. Also, it doesn't try to sell you on any of his other products at all.

Actually it makes more sense to have a separate link for every product and every customer to gather analytic data about your visitors.

It might be very well true that he isn't doing the stuff himself but delegates it but someone at his business made the decision that this is okay.
