I've not leveraged Google AdSense in my software company. I generate about 500,000 page impressions per day with my current install base (on my application, not my website, which generates only about 30,000 per month), and add about 100,000 page impressions to that per month with my increasing business in Europe. Assuming 500,000 ad impressions per day, what can be the expected revenue? Are there any ways to increase that revenue, i.e. showing multiple ads, etc? Thank you! |

Because Adsense can't be installed into an actual computer program, just on web pages. Forgive me if I am mis-understanding this. Generally Adsense results will vary greatly with 1) how well you place your ads, 2) what the topic of your ads is, and 3) if people in your niche are likely to click on the ads at all. For instance, teenagers and tech-savvy people generally don't click on many Adsense ads. However, "product-focused" ads tend to get high click through rates. An example is a vacuum cleaner website I heard an SBI'er talking about. Apparently his Adsense ads get more than 10% CTR on average, which is very freaking high compared to usual. The reason people click on the ads is probably because they are reading a review of vacuums they are interested in on his website, and right next to the vacuum cleaner review is an Adsense ad for that specific model of vacuum, so it is extremely relevant to their interests. At 500,000 page impressions per month, your income from Adsense could vary from a few thousand dollars per month on the relatively low end, to possibly more than ten thousand dollars per month on the relatively high end. Of course, like I said this depends on so many things that it is almost impossible to ballpark it at all. You really would have to experiment with it yourself and see what kind of results you get.

500,000 impressions per day? That is a lot! Okay, let's assume only 0.5% of them click an ad. That's 2,500 clicks every day. Let's also assume each click gives you 10 cents. In my experience, it's usually at least 20 cents or more, so we're being conservative. 2,500 clicks x 10 cents/day = $250 per day. Pretty nice! Of course, you won't really know until you try. Keep us updated. |

Thanks for the replies. I've done some research, and it seems you can get about $1 per 1000 ads shown. My application has about 60,000 users, and they display about 10 browser screens each per day roughly, I'll round it down to 500,000 per day. Plus there are about 10,000 trial users at any one time, and at least as many pirated copies out there. So I'm hoping for $500 per day, which would be nice. I'm going to pop some AdSense ads on the splash screens and see what happens. I'm also making an iPhone app and an Adroid app (a freebie) and will do the same thing, and see what happens. Will report back with results, if any. It sounds good on paper, but we'll have to see what happens. Hey, this is a positive thinking/intention type of forum, so maybe it will even exceed expectations! |

Why not just find a relevant affiliate program, that should work just as well. Unfortunately without knowing the niche or application it is not possible to say how much you will make from this.

Just went to a meetup with these guys, isocket, who essentially give you what adsense does for a monthly fee instead of commissions. It also lets you choose your ads. You will have to build up a customer base, but in the long run you will net more $$ I saw the numbers and tech crunch was getting $18 for 1000 impressions. isocket |

Obviously, a lot of it depends on the keywords, and what is being paid for those keywords. If I remember correctly, that's why all those mesothemeolia websites popped up. Update us on your results. I have one site that gets about 100,000 page views a month, but I tried adsense on it and it only generated about a dollar or two a day. However, the keywords were not very mainstream. |

After messing around with it more, I have gotten to the point of my CTR currently being between 2-3% on average for a month. So, you definitely have to play around with it and test it, and do things like test placement, test ad size, and test link colors and stuff like that. If I recall correctly, my overall CTR increased by like 0.4% one time when I changed the ad link color to purple from traditional link blue, to match the purple links on my website. It is all a matter of finding the best possible placement and design.
