Default Opinion on the look of my new blog/site

Hello,

the blog is in dutch but I would like to know if the design isn't to extravagant. De website is about online marketing and the name in of the website means makemoney. I want to use it to build a mailing list.

I useually pick a more conservative design but this time it's... well. colorfull and I kindoff like it. What do you guys think?

Well I can't read it of course but, overall I think it looks good. I think it could use just a touch of some really bold color to offset the rest. When I scrolled down the page I saw a big red box that said "I live to shop" and it really jumped out at me. Maybe it could use a little more of that , you to know really make it pop. I don't know anything about marketing but I used to do a lot of art and if I was told one thing consistently it was that I knew how to use color.

Interesting I tried to change the background and stuff but it was a little to much. Maybe I'll use more images. Or try to change the logo from color.

Thanks mod for changing the code to a link, I started this website 2 weeks ago but now I'm already in the top 3 of google for 2 different keywords! Thanks.

The layout is probably fine for your purposes, but it does look like a template.

I made it with artisteer, but thats ok since I recommend artisteer on my website for people who want to make their own templates without digging into code.
I know some code but only to make modifications.

Website looks great.

But it looks like you are posting some sort of weird gibberish or something. I've never seen letters mashed together in that way before.

Looks OK to me. I think it would be great if you added just a tiny 1-pixel border to the content column, the border being just a little darker than the background. Adds a nice effect to it. Also, it feels like something's missing on the right side, where the Facebook and Twitter buttons are. You could try to position them in such a way that they command the space around them more convincingly.

I like the font and the way the titles look and all.

I'm posting in my own language which is dutch. I'm just using verdana font. Do you mean the font? Or I should create more space between the characters? I think the font seems normal to me. Maybe I should try to create more space between the characters.

I'm going to put the getresponse newsletter subscription in that area and put facebook, twitte, linkedin and hyves in the header or something. I'm not sure yet but as long as you guys think I didn't overdo it I'm happy with the result. Thats why I created this tread because I usually use softer colors.

You need more content in your sidebar especially on the home page. The main column is huge and the sidebar is mostly empty.

It looks pretty good.

As far as constructive criticism goes, I'd spruce up the category section. Maybe make some buttons and replace the text with them. It looks a little bit too template-like with the category section as it is now.

Looks ok, I would develop the sidebar though. Put an optin for a report, add some facebook plugin e.t.c
