Default Examples of hard work/dedication

I'm looking for some stories online about people who are examples of incredibly hard works and discipline. For example, stories about how hard olympic athletes train or how many hours people put in starting companies. I'm not necessarily saying working 100 hours a week is the right thing to do but nevertheless am looking for some examples of people who do this (like the link to the story about Jeff Immelt below):

Fortune 75 - GE's Jeff Immelt: The Bionic Manager - Intro - FORTUNE

Anybody have a few stories you'd like to share?

In my company there are people who have done 260 hours -overtime- a month for the last 6 months.

Including normal working hours that's 13 hours a day 7 days a week for 6 months. They are crazy. I would have quit after the first week.

All they do is work and sleep.

100 - 150 hours overtime is basically normal in Japan. Hard working enough for you?
(It's why they have a lot of break downs and stress related deaths incidently)

When you are doing something you love though the time is irellevant. I work 8-10 a day at the 'job' then sleep for 90 mins and then put in 6-10 on my businesses. I 'work' at least 15 hours a day, but half of that doesn't feel like work. It's my hobby so it's fun for me.

Yup, that's pretty nuts. Do you know of any articles online I can read related to people like this who are incredibly hard-working and/or dedicated?

Buffett is "working" 24/7. You can grab one of his biographies (I think it was Buffett: The Making of an American Capitalist" which I liked the best). He's always reading some report or another or looking for new opportunities.

If you're looking for examples of just hard work (regardless of results) then go visit a farm or go on a fishing boat. Hell a sweatshop has an example of hard work.
