Here's how it works online. You do long hard research to find a niche for yourself. Then you work even longer and harder to develop a solution for that niche. Then you try to keep as low a profile as possible while selling your solution so as not to attract competitors. The competitors will always come when they finally sniff out the profit potential in your niche. This will lead to a decrease in profits for everyone. At this point you begin to look for the next opportunity. Lather. Rinse. Repeat. Most people running profitable websites don't even tell their own mothers what they selling. Loose lips sink ships. |

| You know Antiventurecapital, I see a lot of posts by you about how making money online is such an enormous struggle and how so many people fail at it. May I respectfully suggest that if you're interested in creating a yummy meal, read a cookbook with recipies of successful, yummy meals, not a cookbook of "1001 Recipes I Tried That Were Really Terrible and Made Everyone Sick". |

Probably the best resourse I've come across for finding a business that's a good fit for you is Dan Miller's 48 Days to Creative Income. Also I personally much enjoyed this interview of the CEO of SmugMug as just a delightful example of someone who built a business by focusing on customers and what they wanted: nPost.com Interview with Don MacAskill, CEO of SmugMug I hope this helps, ^_^ Cat

Wow, Have you been following me. I started a business over 3 years ago for unlocking mobile phone - Global Unlock, at that time I was one of few who offered this service, now people catch on and everyone is doing it everywhere online. People are making less then $2 a sale. It has been a good run and very profitable, however I can relate that if you have a good idea, people will catch on and copy. Now a good part of my business comes from phones very few people do and supplying to other websites. Thanks, Mukul Verma Mukul Verma - Working Together on Personal Development

The easiest way to get started is by promoting other people's products - affiliate marketing. I promote a bunch of products on various websites and blogs and once you learn how to drive web traffic you will start making sales. Andrew Last edited by AndrewJ; 03-13-2007 at 03:23 AM. |
