I'm Chinese too. I live in Hong Kong. Schools never teach students how to start their own business, not in China, Japan, Europe or USA. Schools are supposed to produce employable people, and people who want to start their own business, in my opinion, are the last group employers want to hire. You MUST get enough planning before starting your own business. And the most important part of your planning is getting enough cash to sustain your daily life and pay your bills, because you may not have income for the next six months or even longer. If you need somebody to babysit you and guide you through your business, my suggestion is you should get a new job. |

My suggestion is to talk with people that are in business already. But before getting too much into the technical aspect of things try to get an idea how those you talk to handle business in the effect it has on them. I'm not saying you should make it a a full-blown sociological study, it is simply a way to get a feeling as to how things have worked out for them on a more personal level since they got into business. By knowing some of this you will get a good idea of what it takes, especially in this country, to get things going on that personal and operational level. Remember, it will be the level that eventually you'll be operating at too and of course you will also be exposed to the personal effects. Oh, and be ready to hear the good and bad of it. |

My first business fell flat on its face. My second business was moderately successful, employed maybe 20 people, and made some money. My third business is still a baby, but I think it will work out better than any of the others - in the long run. What type of business are you interested in? |

Thank you Newmark. You have experienced three business and administrated 20 people already… wish u will get what you want… Regarding my business, I have one relative who has one small factory, but he does not know about exportation, so I will work on his products and find overseas clients for his products. I am in the city of manufacturing, certainly there are many business opportunities. |
