I've read that some pro bloggers have a few blogs that they use to spread their income. For example, I read a recent post by ProBlogger that highlighted his $17k+ income from AdSense in August (I think), that was spread amongst his 17 blogs. So the question is, especially for those making more than a few bucks, how many do you have? I personally have 3 at the moment.

I've got one I started back in March. I've neglected it a lot the past few weeks due to things being insanely busy. Adsense revenue has been growing but not as fast as I would like. Right now it gets between 50 cents and $5 a day ($12-20 a week). Part of it is definitely the need for sitting down and revising my strategy and targeting my articles a little more. Once things calm down in a week I'll start writing again and I'll seriously look at my long-term blog strategy in December.

I began with one blog and then started more to experiment with styles, video content and ads. My main blog is text based with articles about Japan. Then I added a silly blog where I post funny pictures, jokes and videos on Japan. After that I tried two videoblogs. One about marital art and the other about Japanese cooking. I have them all on one host so an extra blog does not cost so much. I look at them as a little garden where I can observe their growth.

It takes a lot of time, but the work itself isn't that difficult (as long as you enjoy writing). | |

I think quality over quantity matters. It simply takes time to develop a site with quality content. You can either waste your time creating a lot of crappy sites, or invest your time doing something worthwhile. I have two - a personal and a professional: A Singer’s Life Blog |

I have two, and am developing a third. One is for my main business (promotions, what is going on in the store, and so on), one started as my personal blog, but is turning into more of a PD blog, and the third one will focus on making a living without a traditional job. Just moved the first two from blogspot to Wordpress on my own server, so that has take priority over blogging at the moment. ( it is only in the last month or so I decided to get serious about this blogging thing) By the way, can you save a sig file to be put in each post, or do you have to type it in each time? |

Some days when I don't feel like posting, I think I have way too many. Other days, I'm working to add more to what I have. I post to 8 of my own blogs regularly, have one blog outsourced and another one will be outsourced in December (hopefully). I do make money with most of my blogs, which helps beat the blogger blues. I'm working on the launch of a set of blogs right now, all revolving around a core concept that I feel very passionate about, and that's been pretty interesting. |
