Default Rob Benwell / Hostazar.com Deleting sites with no warning

Just a heads up to anyone who may have the misfortune to have hosting from the Rob Benwell hostazar.com outfit.

They have deleted websites without warning.

I had a blog on there - domain and hosting paid up until 31st August 2010 and they have GONE. NO response is being received from the 'support'.

I have googled and discovered others in the same situation. I also discovered that in February Rob Benwell and his folks were attempting to flog the hosting service for about $33000.

Luckily for me, it was a blog I hadn't used for a long time and was about to revive the domain name for another purpose.

I will be switching my domain name forthwith.

What does concern me most is that it was set up on 'auto-renewal' via PayPal.

I would urge anyone not to associate with this character in any of his internet ventures which are MANY.

PS he does bloggingtothebank

Link to an article about him which concludes he is a scammer.

Rob Benwell Scammer or Entrepreneur?

That's really terrible coolbee. You should not have to show them evidence, since everything is electronic.

I would just move on from them.

In the interests of fairness - it appears Benwell is no longer involved with hostazar.com

They have been taken over by someone else.

My website has disappeared for ever, but they have sort of tried to sort things out via numerous 'support tickets' and their response has been much better lately.

Nonetheless, I have decided to remove my custom and go elsewhere and have applied to have my domain name transferred to a different registrar.

I don't think it was fraud, I think it was just gross incompetence.

From what I have found on the net, Benwell admits to doing nothing much with the service, and wanting it off his hands. I found a number of cases of others whose websites had vanished without warning.

Anyway, I have I think stopped the autorenewal thing and they handed the authorisation code over to me to transfer the domain.

So, I feel a bit sorry for the new owners, but again, a fresh reminder to anyone to keep backups of your sites and to me to remind me why I prefer to use a domain forwarder for my advertised business website address (not shown on here) rather than having them tied together!

We live in a time where people have google alerts on their names.
