Default Need advice on what to do with my life/going to college

Here is my previous thread on this for a little more background information
Need help on what I should do with my life

I Started attending college last January. I'm almost done with my first semester there. I don't really like college so far. I really only decided to go to college in the first place is because I felt like a loser just working at a fast food restaraunt while everybody my age are juniors in college and know what career fields their going in. I just don't like doing the homework, I haven't met any girls yet. I'm in a remedial math class which does not even count toward graduation credit.

I have to start deciding and registering for classes for the summer and/or fall semester right now. Since I still have no idea what degree to choose, I dont know what classes to take. I feel like I'm wasting my time and money (since I dont have financial aid, Im paying with my own money I saved up the past 2 years from working and not going to school) if I don't know what I'm there for. I dont know if I should transfer to 4 year school after I finish here at my community college. I'm just overwhelmed because I really don't know what career/degree to choose.

I feel like I'm way behind because everybody else knows exactly what they want to do with their life and what career they want to pursue, and that makes college life easier for them. I was thinking of just doing one class during the summer (my next writing class) and continue to do 4 more classes during this fall semester. I was planning to take a math, writing (both required to graduate) and 2 more random classes. I dont know if that would be a wise decision though. I was hoping maybe I would find something i'm interested during that that time period.

Well first off, know that you're not alone. I just graduated college a few months ago and I can honestly tell you that the vast majority of college graduates don't end up working in the field they studied in. So don't worry about not knowing what you want to do. Heck, I just earned my Bachelor's Degree and I still have no clue what I want to do.

To be honest, I feel that from a purely financial standpoint, college is a waste of money for a lot of people (myself included). It seems like this giant game that our society plays... You go to college just so you can add a line to your resume, and then businesses are supposed to pay more attention to you. So that's approaching college from a financial standpoint and asking if it's worth it.

But from an overall standpoint- I wouldn't trade my education for anything. It changes the way you think about everything. I realize you could accomplish this elsewhere without paying all the tuition fees etc, but I still think college is a great opportunity. And we do live in a silly society that values that line on your resume.

What are you interested in? Any hobbies? Were there any subjects in high school or junior high that you liked better than the others? Are there any jobs that you see and think are interesting?
