Hi, I'm happy to have found this forum. I like learning foreign languages, I speak Dutch (fluent), Turkish (almost fluent) and English. I want to study a foreign language to become a translator, but I can't decide which language. Does anybody know which languages provide more job opportunities for translators? Should I stick to English? Özcan Last edited by Recluse; 04-08-2010 at 01:38 AM. |

I forgot to mention that translation work not only appeals to me because I like learning foreign languages, but also because it's a solitary job. Given that there are different areas of translation, I assume that certain areas require more interaction with other people? Does anybody have an idea where I can get accurate information and answers to these kind of specific questions? PS: The title should have been "Becoming a translator". There are translation jobs for every language. If you know some African language that few other people in your country speak you might get a lot of jobs even when most people never heard of the language. |
