Default On Writing

Steve,

I've long admired the clarity of your writing style. I was wondering if you could recommend any resources you found useful in developing your writing style for your blog. Were there any books you particularly found useful, sites you visited, or handy techniques you picked up along the way you'd like to share? I guess this topic could make for an article in its own right.

You may want to start with a few basic books:

The Elements of Style by Strunk & White
On Writing Well by Zinsser
100 Ways to Improve Your Writing by Provost
Writing Under Pressure: The Quick Writing Process by Kaye

However, I found the best way is to write often and continually seek to improve on your writing. For example, go back to previous writing samples and edit it. Ask yourself if what you wrote is clear, concise, etc. Put yourself in the readers shoes.
