Funky video on my SBI site
 

Hi guys, I've just added a fun Flash animation about lucid dreaming to my SBI site for anyone who's interested.

It's a 2-minute video on the homepage: "What are your dreams like?"
Lucid Dreaming: Teach Yourself How to Have Lucid Dreams Every Night!

I'm going to add this to YouTube, Stumble, etc to hopefully attract some new traffic. Any other ideas for making a video like this go viral?

PS. It was created by my partner-slash-personal-website-designer, Pete Casale of Cre8ve Media. He's thinking about doing more of this in future if anyone's interested - while it is quite intensive to make, it's also very fun. :)

I like how the music tones matched the ones in your other youtube video.


My only complaint: At the end it says "Click to Replay" but if you click, it doesn't replay! :p

That's awesome. My favorite part was the guy flying over the mountains. I bet that's really going to increase the "stickability" factor on your site.

I only did the narration - Pete did the music, the storyboard, the animation, and the man hours... He's friggin awesome :D

Plus, lucid dreaming is a really fun concept to play with. It could have gone in a million directions but the flying idea just seemed like a winner to me.

Awesome awesome awesome video, Bex! It was very cool. All parts of it are well done! Your cartoon character reminded me of Zero Punctuation, which made it even more fun for me. Cool stuff.

That was fantastic! I will stumble the youtube page or whichever page you are targeting for your viral campaign. I will say that I think the video should be the only thing on the page, because most SU users will click away before they scroll down and see the video. It needs to immediately start playing when the page loads.

Zaphod - thanks for the advice too! I moved the video right to the top of the page, so if you Stumble my homepage that would be very cool. I'm targeting both my website and YouTube as I wasn't sure which would be more effective in a virally sort of way... any thoughts?

I'm not sure. Now the moving figure makes it enticing to click on so I don't really know which would be more effective. I would probably target the homepage, but I'm not a viral guru or anything. You could put $10 into a StumbleUpon campaign and see how many thumb-ups you get out of 100 pageviews for each method ($5 per 100 views), assuming that gives you enough data. I stumbled the homepage.

This was very cool, great job! I think this takes your web site up a notch too.
