Lightbulb Talk about what you do for Money

I'll be especially impressed if you work very few hours.

What do you do? Don't link me to a MLM site with no details just a bunch of actors posing with fancy cars and McMansions. I want to hear from you.

You can also impress me by telling me all the cool things you are doing with your money.

I don't think many people here are the types that want or need to impress anybody. If you want to know, I'm sure you'd get better results by asking in another way.

Really? I've never met anyone who didn't have the desire to impress. I think it's pretty hardwired into human nature (though I suppose certain people's spiritual beliefs might have them thinking the desire to impress is a character flaw or some kind).

Generally, apealling to people's egos gets a good response. People don't get rich soley because they want more pretty things.

Have you read Steve's levels of consciousness entry? People only care about impressing someone or what other people think if they're at the level of Pride or below. Most people on this forum are at Courage or above, otherwise they wouldn't be here.

I've seen it before and no offense but I think it's silly Pride and Courage are BELOW nuetrality? Also, what is "enlightenment"? Is the author enlightened? If not how can he even discuss it? Also why is Joy below Peace? Joy sounds alot more fun.

Lots of people have systems of understanding the world. Doesn't make them true. This system seems to me to be another Weight Watchers version of spirituality.

But I imagine you're high enough on the chart where the opinions of others don't phase you too much, eh?

But perhaps my title is a bit off-putting (though I was hoping folks were "evolved" enough and/or on a squeaky pitched enough "frequency" to not be put-off) so I'll change it.

May all beings be at oneness with the eternal sunshine.

Edit : guess only mods can change thread titles, I tried.

The problem with spiritual folks is they tend to go off on tangents.

I think people are too quick to think they've transcended lower levels. Besides, what's wrong with a little anger sometimes? It's motavating.

Love & glory drives the world.

So what about you Bal, what do you do for the almighty buck?

Impressing people, to me, is a result, not goal. If it's genuine impressing, then that's a nice a feeling, sure. But just the way you said it felt very superficial to me and made me less inclined to answer, even if I was trying to impress somebody. I mean sure on some levels we want to impress people, but not like this.

I suppose it was just the way you worded it, and I got insecure because maybe I know I do that sometimes and feel guilty. Could be, I don't know, I'm just trying to non-hypocritical here. Either way, it felt more like a challenge than a question.

But I digress, my millions on their way.

I'm in and out of college right now, and I don't have a job. My parents make around 13,000 a year. Just try and top THAT!

There you go.

It's no big deal, I was just trying to give you the heads up, as I'm sure that's not the message you were trying to give.

I am a stripper and manager.. qualified to work in the mental health system.. for I have a degree in Psychology.. so as a stripper I feel I am certainly in the right place.. and I make excellent money..

Raised in a academic family.. my mother is extremely disappointed with my choice of occupation.. however.. when did kids ever do what their mothers expected..??

I am currently working towards a Masters in Philosophy.. and then a Ph.d in Psychiatry maybe.. I do not do this for money.. this is voluntary learning at its best.. a skill I learned from my mother..

What am I doing with my money.. The three S's of Money.. Spending it.. Saving it.. and Sharing it.. and while I'm doing this.. I'm making more..

Nothing at the moment. I'm embracing frugality and spending time putting out value into the web with the future intention of monetizing it.

Sounds like a good plan. You can probably attract clients at the places you work (though honestly, having paid for both therapy and female entertainment/companionship, I think the former is hardly worth it ).

So what would you do for the money?

Why psychiatry? It might just be my personal bias (having been drugged by pyschiatrists from age seven to early adulthood) but I prefer analysis to pills (though I'd take sex or friendship over either).

Can you share some with me?

I'll let you pyschoanalyze me for practice.

P.S. : Ignore my question in the other thread (since you answered it here)

I have a full-time job with a large international corporation. I negotiate Contracts (up to $100M) for what we sell. I will reach CAD$100k for the first time this year.

But ... I want more ... much more! And I know my day-job will not get me the income I want.

So, I have decided to become an entrepreneur. I have started part-time last December and I gave myself 2 years to build-up a high enough income so I can leave my current job.

My ultimate goal is to own a Personal Development portal, to be a life Coach and Professional Speaker. My first step in the Entrepreneurial world is as an Affiliate Marketer. I became an affiliate to a company who provides Personal Development material. My intent is to create a steady secondary income and learn the ropes of internet marketing which will be essential when I launch my own website later this year.

What I do with the money we have ... give almost 50% to the Government ... Pay the house, the car, grocery, the other bills, stuff for the kids. With the house we decided to buy, the savings, young kids and the decision we made that my wife will stay home until the kids go to school ... we limit (for this year) what we like doing most i.e travelling.

René

Thumbs up

Currently I'm a professional 3d artist and animator. I work from home freelancing to studios who need my services. Check my signature if you feel like browsing the kind of work I do
My next step is also 3d related, and I'm working on setting it up now... That is to have my knowledge do the work for me on my personal tutorial blog. This will have monetization (reading advice from Steves blog articles Thanks Steve!!) and downloads to purchase if people want them (models and assets etc.) I have been doing this kind of work for over nine years now and have taught people how to use my software. I've been told I should teach at the local colleges and that I do it well... but I think that this will be a better way to reach more people. I really enjoy teaching this stuff. This site will allow more time for me to persue my true desire... painting and sculpture.
My ultimate way I'll be making my future income will be through my traditional art skills.
Cheers all!
Chris
