I live in a "rural area" I suppose I should say; it's Maine. My city has about 16k in it. I'm thinking of trying to get into tarot reading, like 10 a pop this January. (perfect time for new years readings.) I don't have a shop so it would have to be in house or someone else's house. Also thinking of a buy 2 get third person free promo.

I want so badly to do something besides have a job. I haven't had the inspiration for much online action. (buying and selling or blogging.) I've thought of selling plants and home-made personalized holiday cards, but both are a bit of work to get into, and I haven't actualized them. Tarot I already know and it doesnt have an upfront cost. Any tips of home-based service business. i don't know if I even want people over my house or I want to go to someone else's house- dangerous? Idk. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Have you considered offering readings online? When I first quit my job to come home I read tarot cards through sites like Keen and Kasamba. It was pretty lucrative once I got a client base, but I felt psychically drained after a while. That way you could work when you want and don't have to worry about people coming over to your home.

Is there a new age bookstore or organization, like a Unity Church, where you could rent space?
