Default What are some good things to sell on eBay?

Hey guys, what do you think some good things to sell online are? I'm planning to start a sideline e-commerce business.

I already sell prints of my artwork here;

TradeMe - Listings from wellyartwork

So something that could coincide that would be good, I was thinking of selling frames, because I can sell my prints framed.. but then realised that frames are a bad bet, because most people would rather see those in person

So probably something involved with home decor would be good, if anybody has any suggestions? I may even consider making home made coasters of my art prints..

But anyway, a completely different line of products to sell would be good too, just so I have another completely different stream of income..

I'll probably sell on trademe (NZ site) and ebay as well..

I think the best thing to sell on eBay, or anywhere else for that matter is intellectual property that you own. I used eBay to sell Audio programs that I created from original material and offer them on CD for a higher price or as a digital download.

I created the audios and they just kept selling. It was like getting paid to cash the checks.

Good idea,

I'm already selling artwork, and prints of artwork, on trademe and I'll sell on eBay too. I make $110-$140 per month on trademe, so hopefully I'll make around the same on eBay when I trade on eBay next year.

I was hoping for something else to supplement my art prints.. So probably some kind of giftware. or something.

You can expand your art work... You can have it printed on t-shirts, mugs, plates etc.
I´m not sure where you are but at least in the Netherlands that is not that expensive anymore. It would cost you a bit more in time to go there and have it done...

I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

Basically I don't think I can live off my artwork itself, (maybe 1 day) and am looking for another income stream..

I have been thinking of selling stuff on ebay in the Netherlands from Mexico (mainly silver, juwelery etc).

I have no idea if it would sell, I would start with a small bit, see if it would sell, and if yes, continue. I have not started yet, mainly because I need someone in NL to do the rest of the sending for me.

If you are interested, send me a pm. Maybe we can work something out?

Ssandra,

First of all, I've put a bit more thought into your idea of expanding my artwork, and I'm thinking of designing artworks specifically for T-Shirts and hoodies of Urban scenes or Wellington. I'm still figuring my website out, at present, and that's a pretty massive task.

I'm in New Zealand, so I don't know if we could work together on an eBay project. But I know quite a bit about e-Commerce itself, and for my job, I work for an e-Commerce store in London. (strange arrangement, I know) so I'd be happy to talk with you about this..

hi ssandra,

2 years ago i was registered (long time actually) and holding an eBay (and paypal) account, very good rating, references etc. from Italy
for the first time i tried to sell stuff on eBay, connecting from Asia... they blocked my account straightaway, and i faxed them, for verification, THREE IDs (instead as only ONE as they wanted, so as to unlock my account) on top of a couple personal documents the procedure required...

i sent TWO times, they DID receive it... the bastards NEVER replied
wish you better... "luck" ??.

Typically the items that do the best or surprise you in how much they get bid up to are collectibles of strange and unusual items, as well as items that are hard to find at the local stores in the area.

Think, when you want to buy something and can not find it locally you will usually start trying to find it on eBay or other internet sources.

If you live in or near an area that is unique and has products that are only available to that area try selling those items. For instance, I buy loads of things from eBay sellers in Hawaii that have access to items I want but are too $$ or hard to find. The USPS shipping between Hawaii and the lower 48 states is the same if you were sending it across town. Now that's a deal.
