This is a new one on me - don't know if anyone else has heard of it! Purports that Google are recruiting Americans to work from home - you have to send off $2.95 to get a kit - and get paid huge amounts of money to work from home. The email links to a phony online newspaper with phony online comments. Be warned! |

I was blown when that I saw an ad for this on the website for The Toronto Star. I couldn't believe a major news outlet was allowing these kind of ads to run. I've seen thousands of these scammy offers and it even had me going for a while because of how real the page looked (in the sense that the made the ad look like a real newspaper website).

No one who is hiring will ask you for money. How do you recognize a scam? If it is too good to be true, probably it is.

Sounds like the Google Cash scam. I believe they put you on an autorebill thing for like $60 per month and make it difficult to cancel. Pretty shameful, and unfortunately quite a few affiliates promote it I believe.

The ads really don't look that real if you look closely. It's unfortunate people are still falling for these types of scams. I read somewhere this Google Work From Home scam is also part of a computer adware / spyware-type virus, so if you're getting these when you go online, your PC might be infected. |
