And why does it have to be anyone versus anything?, you do a weak favor to those of us that make a living sitting in one of those "cubicles", in your October 13th entry, regarding this matter; as it happens, I do enjoy my job and yet, I do work in one of those, sitting in front of a computer for a good chunk of my waking hours; but I am serving as we all have been placed on this Earth to do, just like millions of people are. Some might dread going to work each day, some might enjoy it, like me, but the heart of the matter is, we all have a mission in this life, and either if yours is to serve in a Mission in Africa to feed the poor, or to assist a customer over the phone in one of those "cubicles", the fact is that both forms of work are valid, in both cases you are serving a purpose, and no form of serving should be disregarded. Maybe I have been blessed with a job I actually enjoy, I don't know, but really, a little bit more respect for those of us that do make a living Monday through Friday 9 to 6. Some of us actually enjoy it! |

I think Steve should probably do a nice, long, thorough blog post explaining that his message and his posts are not targetted to the whole world. His message, as he has said here countless times, is targetted to a very specific group of people and he makes no bones about that nor any effort to appeal to the masses. In that vein, then, I think it's a case of when you see one of his posts that very clearly does not apply to you, you should probably just ignore it and realize that he's simply not talking to you instead of feeling disrespected by it.

Yup. I think he's saying the "cubicle" not because it relates to EVERYONE in a cubical, but because a cubical is the stereotype of hating your job. You can probably thank the movie Office Space for that one. Basically, it could be read "You Vs. The Job You Hate." In this case, the post would have no meaning to you, because you don't hate your job.

Steve makes those posts to insert a glitch into your mental matrix. Why you take personal offense to is simply a demonstration of your belief system. It's designed to help you live more consciously. I personally reject the LoA, and I reject the idea that I have any power over my cubicle. I deny the central premise of Steve's articles. I believe his articles serve as a good contrast to what I actually believe. And I believe that I will defeat my cubicle soon without the help of the LoA.

You don't have to agree with everything that Steve says. Part of being an individual is to make your own decision. Steve isn't and doesn't want to be a guru that you follow without thinking for yourself.

My posts generally don't contain medical or legal advice, if you have a problem seek the opinion of an expert Talking about this in terms of “bad news” or “bad judgment by business leaders” seems archaic. It’s like describing World War One as “a serious diplomatic concern.” Bruce Sterling about the financial crisis. |
