Lightbulb How to achieve ambitious / crazy financial goals?

I would like to make $97,000 AUD by November 2010 which is about an year from now. (Its around $88,000 USD by today's rates). Currently the most I've made in a month is around $4000 AUD , I would have to do double that at around $8k/month to make $97k in an year.

I'd like some advice on how to achieve the above goal of $97k, or to hear from other people like me who also set an ambitious goal they thought was crazy and then achieved / almost achieved it.

Thanks!

Take whatever you are doing to make $4000 a month and do it two fold.

Here's a general outline of what I do, a mish-mash of a bunch of PD books basically:

-Know why you want it. Not just intellectually know that it's nice to be rich, really know it so it resonates with your core. Is this a goal you can be passionate about almost every day for several years to come?
-Get emotional about the whys, both pain of not getting and pleasure of getting. Classic Tony Robbins stuff.
-Find people who are doing it.
-Network with them, they become your mentors, support group and inspirations.
-Deconstruct the way to the goal, create a strategy.
-Try to apply 80/20 thinking, try to think like a hacker and find a shorter route.
-Cut strategy into quantifiable chunks, evaluate progress every month. Have good tracking metrics.
-Become a pro, learn the required skills, take pride in your craft, set higher standards for yourself, learn to see the similarities between this and other fields, cross-pollinate, always be reading about your field several hours a day. Strive for unconscious competence.
-By all means, do a lot of visualization, intent-holding, ridding yourself of limiting beliefs, etc. Just spend a lot of time actually working on your goal too.

I hope this helps!

It sounds like you thought enough about this to set a goal and set a time limit, but have you spent enough time thinking about ways you can do it?
Spend some more quiet time with yourself, you may already have the answer and you have not spent enough time thinking (or meditating) to see the answer.

1. Find some higher paying clients
2. Hire some assistants to free up some of your time
3. Hire some professionals (also on freelance basis) that can take over some of the easier tasks.
4. Hire (on commission only) a sales prof who can take over the prospecting of new clients
5. Lower your costs, see what you can do without
6. Hire somebody to do your administration so you have more time for new projects

Maybe you cannot implement all of them right now, but these should help you make more money

Good luck.

(please inform me when you are successfull. I´ll sent you an invoice of 10% )

Unless you find a way to LEVERAGE something to your advantage, you're going to have to do it by brute force (i.e. working twice as hard).

Things that create leverage:
A) Working on your personal development and learning to eliminate beliefs that get in the way of earning the money.
B) Outsourcing and/or owning wage slaves to do work for you.
C) Using some tool to do the work cheap and faster for you - ie. the Internet.
