Hi All, My God, which books are the favorites? I've read over 600 books to date...it's tough to remember the absolute stand outs... The Power of Intention by Dr. Wayne Dyer Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker The Secret By Rhonda Byrne The Science of Getting Rich by Dr. Wallace Wattles The Four Agreement by Don Miguel Ruiz Feel the Fear and do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers No Opportunity Wasted by Phil Keoghan Mentored by a Millionaire by Steven K Scott Will the Real You Please Stand up by Dr. Fran Harris Think and Grow Rich by Naploean Hill Well Ok, I guess there are some that stand out! Take care, |

I just read a book, on another site (gather.com), written by a member. He goes by Larry M. The invisible hand is a phrase first coined by Adam Smith, an economics enthusiast, and Larry M. has written a very good idea. It concerns non-physical money. He's used a good fiction story that helps explain the idea, and how it would work. I found it fascinating! |

I just start reading a book called "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. This book is so amazing I haven't even finished reading yet and just got to the 5th chapter but I can tell how powerful this book is. I highty recomend this book. I also have a blog with a listing of my favorite books and I'm about to add this one as well as soon as I finish reading. Pups4eva InspiredWay |

Another one that I highly recommend other than "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill that I forgot to mention is "ASK AND IT IS GIVEN" by Esther & Jerry Hicks. It's similar to the best seller "The Law of Attraction" but this one has step by step process you can immediately follow steps within your most immediate interest. This is more spiritual approach for business and personal success and manifestation. I have both books listed on my blog as well. InspiredWay |

I agree with rebelwithacause. If there is one book that stands out more than any other, it's The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace Wattles. It's a classic and is the book behind the movie, 'The Secret'. I refer to it as the bible for making money. If you want to learn more about the book, check out my post series titled: The Science of Getting Rich: Principles 1-3 The Science of Getting Rich: Principles 4-7 Enjoy, Stephen Martile — Personal Development Made Simple |

Here are a few of my suggestions: First, a book suggestion that looks like it doesn't really fit -- at first glance. BUT: I just discovered it and am so excited about it I just have to share it. Plus I myself use it as much for attracting money (or even more so) than for what it officially is for, which is attracting romance: Margaret McCraw: Tune into Love. It has some of the best step-by-step how-to guidelines on how to increase positive vibes and attract people (and things incl. money) into our lives that I've seen anywhere! I HIGHLY recommend it. Just replace partner/love with money and you'll see how good of a fit it is. And hey, when you do want to find a romantic partner or improve the romance with the one you have, it'll help with that too... Another book I really like, in spite of its awfully corny title: Sandy Forster: How to Be Wildly Wealthy Fast Serioulsy. This book is excellent! It combines the spiritual aspects of drawing money with the more practical aspects. All in bite-sized chapters, each of which features action steps at the end. I love that book! Carole Dore: The Emergency Handbook for Getting Money Fast. Don't go to Amazon for that one. Some people are trying to sell it for a multiple of what you can get it for directly from Carole Dore at Welcome To PowerVision Dynamics It's still quite expensive, but it's a GREAT book! Focuses a LOT on visualization and attracting things from the heart, working with feelings, etc. Writing this, I realize that I haven't read it in a while and when I last did I did not yet know the Abraham-Hicks materials. Now what she said makes much more sense to me, so I'll probably go back and work with it properly. Note: I just checked and currently she's only selling the book in combination packages... but they're still cheaper than the Amazon.com used copies. Oh, and this list wouldn't be complete without Carol Look's book: Attracting Abundance with EFT And Carol's other goodies, all on her website: Welcome to Carol Look -- Attracting Abundance with EFT -- Attracting Abundance with EFT She also publishes an excellent monthly newsletter (back issues available on her website) with EFT tappings for money issues. And last but not least, a pretty mundane book in comparison: Jerrold Mundis: How to get out of debt, stay out of debt, and live prosperously or his newer book: Earn What You Deserve. Don't get them both -- there's a LOT of overlap. You may want to get the newer one if earning issues are holding you back though. |

I'm currently reading "The Millionaire Maker's Guide to Creating a Cash Machine for Life" by Loral Langemeir ![]() It's taking me a while to read it with my schedule but it seems to be very practical from the stand point of someone actually "having done it" rather than talking from theory. |

Alan Corey’s A Millionaire by 30 is a good quick read (it’ll take an afternoon) that offers many many ways of saving money. Alan made his riches in so short a time period (seven years) largely due to the real estate boom of the early 2000s, however, had he followed his plan he would have eventually made a bundle even without real estate. I didn’t much appreciate his writing style that is somewhat crass and irreverent. Also, he definitely has the perspective of a starving single student, but there are some good ideas here.

Some books on being smart with financial stuff: The Truth About Money, from Ric Edelman, and, also from Ric Edelman, The Lies About Money, and Missed Fortune 101, by Douglas Andrew, was extremely eye-opening. Last edited by Matthew Haupt; 03-15-2008 at 12:07 AM. |

I just finished Rule #1 investing by Phil Town. He writes about how anyone can easily see 15% returns by not diversifying but by picking the right stocks when they are undervalued and then selling when they're over valued (like Warren Buffet). While this makes a lot of sense in theory I think he gives a very unrealistic outlook on how much work/research this will require. I don't buy that you can do this in 15 minutes a week like he claims. I tried to go through his system (which is very complex and difficult to pull off) and spent hours spinning my wheels--and I feel I'm a fairly competent "normal person." Read this book if you want to pick up some more strategies on how to pick stocks but definitely don't pick it up if you think getting rich will only require 15 minutes a week.

Hi, I'm new to forums, this forum, and this thread. To: WRX AJT: The author of "Social Intelligence" is Daniel Goleman. And you were also wanting to know if there were any other books like "Tipping Point" etc. There is one called "Only the Paranoid Survive" by Andrew S. Grove. It's a good book to read. It talks about how a business faces inflection points and that if it does not deal with these inflection points in the best way, then that can have a dire impact on the business. I have just recently read "The New Think & Grow Rich" by Ted Ciuba, which is the adaptation of Napoleon Hill's version, for the 21st century. It's a very good book and written in easy to grasp english. |

One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch is absolutely excellent if you want some common sense and encouraging advice on investing in the stock market. There's also a wonderful little book by James Pardoe called 'How Buffet Does It.' As you can tell, I'm a dyed-in-the-wool value investor. I believe this is the only way to put your hard earned cash to work in a sustainable way.

Hi people. I wish to take first steps in economics, marketing, business, finance and SEO. I need books which would introduce and explain the basic working principals of those fields. Could anyone please give some recommendations? |

The 4 Hour Workweek, by Timothy Ferriss. This is definitely my goal -not necessarily working only 4 hours/week, but the freedom to travel and work from my laptop. He comes across a little smug sometimes, but there's some solid advice in this book. The Astonishing Power of Emotions-Esther Hicks' latest Abraham book. Whether or not you believe in the "channeled" angle, this is a very effective way to way attention to and improve your emotional state. Who's Your City? by Richard Florida. I just started this one, but I'm already fascinated by it. Someone posted about Thomas Friedman's, The World is Flat. Interesting, Florida disagrees with a lot of that book, showing how the world is really more "spiky" -that is, even though we live in a digital age, place is more important than ever and most growth is concentrated in a few areas of the world.

I'm currently reading The Top 10 Distinctions Between Millionaires and the Middle Class by Keith Cameron Smith. Most of what he writes can be found elsewhere but he has a unique take on the points he makes.

One of my favorite books on investing is Intelligent Investor, written by Benjamin Graham, with the preface written by Warren Buffett. Warren wrote in the preface that he first read this book when he was nineteen, he still thinks it was the best book about investing ever written. To Your Wealth Lee Stuckey |

I'm 70% through 'Do You' by Russell Simmons (hip hop mogul), it's surprisingly awesome Links in closely with Eckhart Tolle as well (hes actually mentioned a few times in the book)
