Default Getting video site off the ground

I have a video web site I started about a year ago where users can post videos of cars they want to sell and I'm really trying to get it off the ground. The problem is figuring out how to reach regular the average private seller and get them to participate and post their videos to the site.

What are some things I can do to build participation on my video site? How can I get people to post their own videos to sell their items?

I've been told that I should post my own videos to the site so that people can actually see videos there and that could possibly work. Well, there is a dealership that currently uses the site to sell their cars, but they are the only ones. And I had to actually go visit their lot to get them interested. BUT how can I reach the average person who may be using the newspaper or Craigslist or Ebay to sell their cars?

Any suggestions?

By the way, the site I'm referring to is not the one in my signature.

Does anyone here who has created a video site have any advice they can share? I'd greatly appreciate it.

By the way, the site I'm referring to is not the one in my signature.

Why only a single dealership?
If that approach worked, why aren't you going to the next dealership and get there cars as well?

Well, I'm working to try and get other dealerships to advertise their cars as well, but so far I have this one. But again, I'd really like to reach the average private seller.

Any advice on that, Brutha?

Why?
Being a startup is all about being agile, trying different things and seeing what works and doing more of it.

There are a bunch of different ways to advertise.

In general you should focus on people in your area. Craigslist grow city by city. It didn't targeted everyone in the world at the beginning or even everyone in the US.
It would probably a mistake for you to target everyone.
