Default Should I quit job?

Hello

I'm new to this forum.. I live in switzerland, am 20 years old and I really love this page. Whatever, I work in a company, where I made an apprentiship (Sorry, forgot a lot of word in english) and I work there for 4 years now.. the first years, it was cool.. but since more than a year, it sucks, the workers became strange, many left and nothing happens.. for a while now, I'm thinking about, and would really love it to be independent financialie... Also, meanwhile, i really dont like it at all, not to say i hate it, to go there in this company every morning too early, work for 9 hours stupid thing that is boring and stupid as he**..

much talk, i know... my question, cause I have some sort off fear... my "plan" , or "dream" is to quite job, and give me a year time to make my own busines and to generate an income, that comes close to what i need... fortunately, i live in a country, where it has a "jobless-insurance", where I would get 70to80 percent of my current income from my job.., so it wouldnt be a financial problem...

so, where is the problem you ask..?
hmm, a good questions.. i have a little fear of following things...
1. to go to my boss, and say that i want to quit.. he's a good man, and he thought or thinks and hopes, that i will work in this area, and for his company...
2. my mother... I quit home 4 months ago, and she really would worry if i quit job...
3. my girlfriend... she would go crazy if I come and say "he baby, i quit job!" , in this economie-crise times...

hm, what do you think? I go crazy in my job... many people would like my job, but i think i'm wating my time there...

so, thx a lot.. I apreciate every single input...

maede999,

Hello. In answer to your problems, are these the only 3 reasons you are still at work, or are there other reasons?

What is your plan for a business?

If you have a plan, and these are the only 3 reasons, then this might be a good idea.

Please though, and this goes for everyone here... keep it real. Most businesses will fail (statistically) and having a job in these economic times is not so bad. Many would love to have a job right now. It's very easy to get highly motivated and then end up in a worse situation, due to reading new articles that can tells you you can achieve anything, but then won't tell you how.

In other words, if you do quit, do so because you have really thought it through and have a good plan. Don't let some motivational talk and a temporary high be your main reason for action. A good plan will be a good plan in one week, one month, probably one year- so don't rush! Good luck.

Don't quit until you have another job ready or you have a plan for your business. Best of luck!

Default work and business on the side.

What I'm doing now is building up a business on the side and as soon as I reach financial freedom I also have the freedom to quit my job if I want.

You are quite bussy if you work and have a business at the same time, but it's worth!

You're really bussy so times fly. You're never bored and you are motivated because you work hard thoward your goal.

ok, thx for all the input!

I think, I will go that way too... I will continue my daily work, and I will give it a try to work on my personal business after the 9 hours working day... So I have to find my way to have power in my brain after this long work... thx a lot.

I have some plans, but all of this are not convince me... I love the idea of a personal development page, but there are hundreds of these these days, so I have to find sth other... My other passion is to make music, but make enough cash with it in my country is more than difficult...

I hope I'll find my way! I have to be patient...

so, my first steps are: to organize all my things first... (have to do some formal things for government since moths... I have to rush for not getting troubles there...)
- have to kick up my lazyness
- to learn english better
- to develop a good idea for busines into a specific plan...

thx a lot and I realy love this page - and forum..

have all your best days!!

peace

Default Sometimes Life Makes Decisions For Us

Hi Maede999,

Sometimes when we are evaluating a decision, life makes that decision for us and we then must be committed to finding our way.

You are in a great place in this forum and are surrounded by genuine people that will help you along the way.

Now there are some people that can hit the ground running and get a business going very quickly and others where it takes some time.

Don't be afraid to take on something that may not be your ideal business or job to provide you with a source of income. Think of it as learning what you can while you are bringing in some income and meeting new contacts.

Based on my experience I quit my job too soon and burned through several 10's of thousands of dollars in savings. I did change careers and it did get me on the right path, however I could have achieved the same result without jumping ship too soon and would have an extra $50,000 + in the bank.

Perhaps you can find a job that will teach you the skills you need to start your own business? or just get a business started now?

Remember having a business can be:

1. An auto detailer with 100 customers.
2. Jeff Bezos and Amazon.

Today There are many businesses you can start with a low investment and an opportunity to learn.

Wish you the best!

Robert

Start your business while you're still employed. How long can most people live without money? Not long. And it may be a long time before your new business actually makes any profits. Being employed while you're starting your business means money in your pocket while you're going through the business start up process.
