Michael Jackson's story of chronic waste and debt makes me wonder about a parallel universe where MJ had lived frugally and invested his money carefully. He might have wound up with a net worth in the billions by now. Not all celebrities squander their windfalls, fortunately. I noticed this article about a year ago: The Discount Dozen: 12 celebrities who are frugal just like you As another example, the punter Kyle Larson, at least when he played for the Cincinnati Bengals until recently, reportedly banked about 75 percent of his income. We need more frugal celebrities like these to set examples for ordinary people trying to get out of their financial black holes. |
