Default If you could go back which job would you try to get?

if you are not currently self-employed, what kind of job do you think would have been better than your current job and why?

I think a circus performer. A trapeze artist, maybe.

I would have stayed in school for computer science. I didn't give it a chance because at the time it seemed so primitive compared to my vision.

Default More creativity

I would have ignored all those who said to look for "practical" careers, and I would have explored more creative pursuits, especially music and theater, but also computer programming. And per Angela's suggestion, I too wish I had explored the career options offered in the circus!

Actually, I wouldn't do something else, I guess I'm pretty content with what I'm doing now and what I've done so far.

I thought of something though. A job or business in which I can travel to a lot of foreign countries, even live there for a few years. Diplomat. Freelance travel guide writer. Pilot of small cargo plane in low population areas. I'd like to be able to learn foreign languages much quicker.

Thanks for the bump, I enjoyed thinking about this!

I would have studies literature or journalism and not let my parents talk me out of it.

In the end, i'm going to be writing anyway so it doesn't make a lot of difference and I would not have had the experiences that I have now, and would not have been the same person...

Hmmm in the end... no, I would not have changed anything!

Any fool can become a "succesful" employee. We may call it by a different name, a "career" or whatever. But if we have to phone in sick and stay in a small cubicle the whole day, it's a JOB!
