Default Just created a website, but...

The Website is about Green Living. My background is a web developer and I have no experience in the marketing field. The site allows you to post any listings that you want to exchange with someone else or giveaway to someone else.

Due to limited budget, I have to do it myself. I feel pretty frustrated and have no idea where to get started.

My suggestion: instead of facilitating exchanges as item for item, create a "green living dollar". Say someone wants to trade their gardening tools for something. Anyone can buy some green living dollars for say, 90 cents on the dollar. So customer A buys 20 GL dollars for $18 U.S., and gives them to customer B selling the tools. Customer B now has 20 GL dollars, and a greater incentive to keep using your site, as well as much greater freedom of selection than an item for item trade.

Your design is extremely professional. Nice job!

Sorry I do not have more advice in regards to marketing.

I agree with Daffy Duck. I clicked the site to see what it was about and I instantly was attracted to the layout.

Maybe you can start a youtube channel and make green videos and link it to your website.

Find forums that are about green/environmental/saving money/etc and post there.

Find blogs that are about these issues and write to the blog writer to see if they want to mention your website in their blog.

Ask people that register on your site to forward to their friends (in a nice, non-pushy way)

Use facebook, hi5, hyves, linkedin to promote your website in your profile.
Ask your "friends" on these sites to do the same.

Good luck!
