I'm trying a new, or more accurately - a supplemental, monetizing solution on my paranormal site. I installed a classified system with a graded fee structure, from free to over $100.00. I'm a little unsure about the fee structure though and would appreciate some feedback. Is simple better, or is it better to provide more options? I realise that the free option will by far get more use, but leaving the more expensive option may inspire some people to use the cheaper grades with a few benefits. Then again, it might scare them off altogether. I don't know...please help! |

That's something you really have to test with analytics, but classifieds are a problem of mass... people won't post unless there is an audience, and an audience won't build unless people post. Do you have enough mass already on your site to make the free classifieds viable? If so, then MAYbe you could charge for something, but I don't get the benefit personally. What do you have that craig's list doesn't?
