Default Planning a StumbleUpon Explosion

I have been fiddling with the page in my signature for an absurd amount of time. I am trying to pack a powerful punch so that readers will give it a thumbs up, and hopefully generate thousands of pageviews. Good for the cause I'm promoting, but also would be great for me.

Can someone please look at it and say if it inspires or motivates you? If not, please tell me. I'm really hoping this works. Any suggestions are welcome.

Don't know much about SU, but I'd imagine people give you only a second or two before clicking away. You have to catch them quickly.

I'd start off with a headline that engages them? Maybe begin with "Which would you prefer?" in big letters, then have both of the pictures side by side. That way, they don't have to scroll to see what you're getting at.

Then you need to get a hook in right away. Tell them that you have a way they can contribute at no cost by investing about 20 minutes and a little soapy water to make a lasting impact on the environment. Show a picture of a cute little kid with rubber gloves and a sponge.

What you're trying to do is good. Make it attractive too. I know you want to make money, but your ad on the right looks ugly. Is there something better you can use? How about affiliate linking within your text?

I'd suggest moving your page links a nav-bar under the header so you have less clutter in the content area.

You want to get their attention and make it easy for them to feel positive by learning how to help. If you can do that, getting clicks (and $) shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks for your feedback. I put the images by side-by-side and altered my headlines a little. I decided that the sidebar just looks too bare without an ad, so I replaced it with google adsense. I also cut out a little arithmetic and slightly changed some wording.

However, it obviously didn't influence to you clean your fridge coils (because that's not how you clean them!). Why not?

I apologize. I messed up on the calculations. It would be two to three nuclear power plants. (I forgot to divide the number by the number of people per household). Luckily it hasn't circulated at all yet.

I gave you a thumbs up runningbird!

Even though many of us have probably come across this type of information before, it's always good to get a reminder. Good work!

Ha! Actually, I was planning on getting to it this week. (and a cute image never hurts, even if it's irrelevant...).

Good luck.
