Default Material on project management

Can anyone who has experience with managing larger projects recommend good material (books, audio books, seminars, etc..) on project management?

What are you looking for, precisely?
I find that vulgarization in project management has been stagnating for decades, read one random book and you've read them all. The real added value will come from experience and/or reading research articles (Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, Califrnia Management Review etc.) but few managers take time for that, unfortunately.

If you are a beginner and feel you lack strict structure in your project management style, the Prince2 method would be a good one. If you want a more organic, looser approach, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK, the American counterpart of Prince2) would be more appropriate.

I have never studied anything on project management, so I think I can be considered a beginner.

I don't know what I don't know yet, but essentially what I am looking for is how to structure the project in way in order to go from the project objective to all the little things that have to be done without losing the big overview.
