40K$US per month -- organic growth -- advertising

Hi,

Although i'm new on this forum, i have been reading great Steve's posts almost from inception of stevepavlina.com.

Now what i want to ask Steve is how the heck he is making 40K$US a month without AdSense clutter (i always use script blocker so i usually can't see them), i have been browsing with js enabled but still cant see almost no AdSense...

It would be cool if Steve could teach us how to place ads, i mean that anyone making 40K$US per month and giving valuable teachings on life should tech us this lesson too! :)

But, you can just look at his site(s) and see where he places his ads.... right? He already has articles that suggest you monitor your performance and experiment with different placements.

Well the fact is i can't see almost any Google AdWords...

It seems he's most of money on affiliate products, am i correct?

For the testing what's best for you i totally agree, and it's a common sense!

Mayo, are you looking at the blog or the forums? There are more google ad blocks on the blog and site than there are on the forums.

Yes, a lot of the monthly income comes from affiliate programs. It's not all adwords.

Steve spent a lot of time optimizing the placement of the ads and even got a little help from someone at Google.

It doesn't matter how many ads you have on your site, if you don't present value. The only way you'll ever get $40,000 per month from adwords is to deliver content that people want to read. I suggest you ask yourself:

What can people get out of my site and how can it help them?

If you don't have anything important to say, you won't be able to make that type of money. Also, you should put your website link in your signature, so people on these forums can see what you have to offer. I've found a lot of great sites that I've RSS'd this way.

Unfortunately it's adult dating site, so there is no Steve wisdom in there!
Although with proceedings from this site i will be able to help other folks, especially kids by establishing a charity fund that will help them, also many of the subscribers will be able to practically live off it, and with some of the folks capable of earning 300K$US a year(NOT prostitution!!!)... so it's not that honorable(human sexual lust) but it will in other hand help others who have nothing to do with adulterous thoughts to have better future(imagine giving abandoned kids the best education there is and making them next intellectual elite, more of all an elite with a heart)!!

If your site is an adult dating site with highly sexual content, keep in mind that you not be able to use Google Adsense as that would be a violation of their terms of service. You could still use some affiliate programs.

First, I agree with what Brainmay has said. You may not be able to use adsense with adult sites, but you can find other ways to make extra money.

But what I don't understand, is why you would create a business that you feel is not honorable. I don't think there is anything wrong with running an adult site IF it's aligned with your values. For some people, running an adult site IS honorable, because they are providing a service to others. But these people don't care if others disagree with them and they aren't ashamed of what they do.

But the real question is, does this business align with YOUR values or are you just doing for the money? If you don't care, then do it. But if you're just doing it for the money, then why? Do you want money that bad? There is more than enough money in this world for us all. You can make money doing anything, as long as you have enough customers. And it can be honorable to YOU too. Doing it just for the money, will be a disaster. It doesn't matter if you're practicing law, medicine or whatever. Doing something just for the money will not last long and you will be unhappy.

If it's just for the money, when you get it, then what will you do? Will you feel more secure? Happier? Dating your dream person? What is it you really want? If you say you want more money, then that means you just want more security and love in your in life. Money will not buy you security. Comfort yes, but not security. Security is internal, it's believing in YOURSELF no matter what happens to you in life. Security = Self Confidence and Self Love.

Now, if you want to help poor kids more than anything, then do that. Start with that, not an adult site. Start a non-profit or go work for one. Start a business that has to do with the kids IF that's what you really want. But if it's the adult site that's really your pride and joy, then just go for it and be proud of it.

And the only reason I'm bringing this up, is because you said what you will be doing isn't honorable. But if it's not honorable to YOU, then why are you doing it? If I say it's not honorable, but you think it is, then do it. If not, then find another way to serve people and move on.

Either way, good luck with your site. And if this is what you want to do, then be proud. Tell people and make it the best site you can. Make it successful.

I believe everyone has right to do what ever he likes to do with his life in that that he doesn't hurt other beings! And yes with 3 months behind me doing documentation, and building the site, and by the way learning several new programming languages(Lisp being one of them (^_^) ) i feel very proud to even consider widening my knowledge and experiences.

It seems it's not so much honorable to my close friends, though it's their opinion!

Yes i think it is honorable to fill the void, many people are not so monogamous , i was surprised how many swingers are there, even in small cities, and many people in adult dating sites find their future spouses.
