Hi Lychee, I've both bought and sold books from half.com. How reliable depends on the individual seller. You can check out seller's reputation and also leave feedback. The seller feedback system is shared with ebay, as half.com was bought by ebay. Most books are mailed via USPS media mail unless you upgrade. Media mail is very slow, so be patient if you end up doing that. Last edited by sundance; 01-27-2007 at 02:44 AM. |

Its part of ebay, so basically the same "rules" apply as when using ebay except the prices is fixed. I have bought several items (usually books) off the site. As with ebay and other sites, one of the main things I look at is the seller's feedback and rating, especially when buying anything expensive. I would never buy a big ticket item from someone with no or a low rating or a bad feedback record. Trust and honesty is the whole thing the sites are built on. I have bought and sold dozens of items from ebay, amazon, Half, etc and so far have had no real problems (bought a phone that ended up being stolen once, but they quickly refunded my money :-) Just use common sense. I always use either Paypal or a credit card so I can freeze the funds if the purchase comes into dispute.
