I think your site is great, the design is really nice and I read one article which was very useful.

Your stile is impersonal (scientific) so maybe that is why people are not sticking around. But I understand that the reason you use this style is because of the subject you are writing about.

Do you try to attract visitors to your site by posting in your field-related forums? That could really help. Also you can exchange links with other useful sites of similar niches.

Two ways to get more traffic:

1) Get more new people to your site
2) Get more people to revisit your site

If you don't have both in mind, then you're missing out on *significant* traffic opportunities.

For #2, do the following:
a) Make it EASY to subscribe to RSS and RSS via Email (FeedBurner can handle both of these for you)

Now, for #1 (new visitors) the best advice I can give is check out this site:

TakeOverPage1.com

It is responsible for me dominating search engines for several different keywords and niches in my market (spirituality).

Also make sure you have Tell-A-Friend feature to your site and use social networking buttons (like "ShareThis") to your site.

Yes, I agree. Nice layout, very professional, streamlined... but lacking in the kind of spirit that will make people come back again & again or remember it for future use.

If there's a way for you to be more transparent -- allow more of your personality to come thru -- I think it would help. Being personally visible is the way to go now... without that personal "feel", it's hard to keep visitors. That's part of what's meant by "attraction marketing" -- giving people an experience of what it's like to learn or benefit from you personally.

Any way you can lend your site a unique personal "branding" will help immensely! You have a great foundation now, so you can begin to layer something with more warmth or color on top of it. Even if you choose to become an affiliate to some very cool companies or products... that has an effect of telling your visitors something about you!

You're right, perhaps a little too scientific. I am starting to lean towards a more personal type of design. I think that will definitely help. Thank
