Unhappy Don't deserve so much??

This is a question for Steve and anyone else in a situation like him. There are some people out there working super hard for 40-60 hours a week. Then you only work like maybe 10 hours a week and make twice as much. How do you feel about that? And do you ever feel like you don't deserve it?

This has been my problem lately, and I think it might be part of why I'm always broke now.

Do you believe that how "hard" a person works, or how many hours she puts in, correlates to either the value she is providing or how much she deserves to receive?

I think all of your beliefs, including your beliefs around value and deserving, are certainly a part of why you are experiencing whatever you are experiencing.

And you know what I think may be a really big part of that? Your belief that "I am always broke now." That would be a really great limiting belief to let go of, if you'd like to welcome and enjoy abundance in your life.

Sorry, which position are you in exactly? The working super hard 40-60 hours a week or the working 10 hours a week one?

That depends on what you think gets you results/money. If you think willpower, simple hard work, half-killing youreslf, sacrifice gets you money then sure, you may think you don't deserve it. But if you think that the money you get is a result of the value you create and what systems of delivering and creating value you own, then it makes perfect sense.

I don't even know how many hours I work a week. Probably less than 20. But that's just on new projects. My income right now is super passive so really I could just work like 10 minutes a week and make the same amount. Maybe that's my problem? I feel like I should be working harder? I wish I knew.

And btw, I don't believe I'm always broke, I meant that more like an example. I do seem to believe I'm barely making enough to get by but I don't know HOW to stop believing that.

If your income is less than your outgo, then to believe that is true is not a limiting belief -- it's simply an astute evaluation. You are boldly looking at your situation, and you can assess how it relates to where you want to go. I can't think of a good reason NOT to believe an astute evaluation.

But believing "I am always broke" IS a limiting belief, because there's nothing true about it, right? Has there ever been a time in your life when you were not broke? Also, I think that the word "broke" itself is a limiter, because it is like declaring a judgement on yourself -- there's something wrong with you; you're broken. That's quite different than saying to yourself, "I don't have enough money to pay my bills right now."

It's not just semantics -- your unconscious mind really soaks up your language like a sponge. If you say to yourself, "I am always broke," your unconscious mind, forever wanting to please you, will do all it can to keep you always broke. And if you tell yourself, "I am in the process of creating and gratefully accepting limitless abundance in my life," your unconscious mind will launch itself in that direction.

But I suspect from your thread title that your deepest limiting beliefs -- the ones that are really preventing you from having and doing everything you want -- have a lot to do with "deserving."

What is The Truth for you about deserving money? If you were to visit your 5 year old self, what would she tell you is The Truth about deserving money? What about your 10 year old self, and 15? You've got all kinds of grown-up rationalizations about it, but from your inner child's point of view, your deepest unconscious mind, in other words, what are the beliefs you hold around money and deserving?
