Excellence award

Hello all,

I just got an excellence award in my company. Its for the whole of my team for the past year.
i am happy but...

We are a bank and a bank that has had a very bad impact coz of the economic turmoil..

i have never experienced job satisfaction at all here. this is a place where there is no work at all for me to give me any value addition or job satisfaction.. but i have been coming and going without any other choice... actually did not even think of it till recently ...

Also last year i was on maternity leave for about 6 mnths. and did manage to go a very menial bit of work for the whole year.

i am actually not sure if i really deserve this .. in my heart i know i dont deserve a bit of it. I do whatever is asked out of me properly yes, but there is very very little asked out of me and there has not been any level of career growth or learning for me personally.

i am waiting for a couple more months untill i know the stability of my husbands work within that and i seriously want to say good bye...

my team members are all very proud and happy..
when i told about this award to my husband he said very good etc and said i shld be happy and proud !!!
but i feel something like shld i actually be? for something i feel i did not deserve ...

why shld i get an excellence award where i feel i did not even get a decent level of work to do. ? how shld i take this?

P.S we have been nominated before when we had good level of work to do ... but did not get the award at that time ... and this is the first time we hae got one..

You could speak to whomever your manager is, and say something like "How can I do more for this company? I feel like I could contribute so much more."


Ask your higher ups if there is any way you could make the business even better. Or ask anybody below you as well!
