Default Banks, bloody banks!!!

Hello

I am curious to know about bad service and over charging experiences other members have had with their banks.

Here in the UK there is a campaign afoot that is highlighting the sheer bareface greed that banks make on the back of overchaging on charges. So much so that many individuals have are making claims againing this higly illegal and immoral behaviour.

I'm myself have just claimed back £600/$1000 back for from them for the last 6 years I have held a business bank account.

Many other people are making similiar or larger claims that me and getting them.

A)The banks know that they are going against comsumers rights law here in the UK and so are paying up. because it is cheaper to do that rather than face expensive law suits.

B) They are running scared and not dropping there charges and not advertising the fact that they are doing this...it would cost them millions!!

What are other peoples' experiance? I also have a standard letter available, which I can send to anyone who wants it or even I can email it too them if they want a copy.

More information about this bank rip off can be found at....

BBC NEWS | Business | How to claim back penalty charges

I hope that it is of interest or at least helpful to some other who feel cheated.

G.

I used some template letters I found at the consumeractiongroup.co.uk forums, and claimed back £550 from Virgin credit card - which, after applying compound interest (worked out with the help of a handy spreadsheet from the very same site) came to a hair under £800.
Next, I'm taking on the Halifax, who must owe me about five grand by now.

We need a campaign like that in the US, too. The fees banks are charging these days are nothing short of usury. It's all in the name of providing value to the shareholders. Meanwhile, the account holders are the ones getting screwed. I've complained several times to my bank about fees I've gotten charged and have usually been successful getting my money back. My most successful tactic has been to threaten to take my money elsewhere.

Good luck in your campaign!
