Default Do you see the opportunity?

So let me start by saying that I am not denying the reality of the current economic situation. This could very well destroy the world economy as we know it.

But something else is going to take its place. And what that is will largely be defined by how we respond to what is going on. So I think this is a legitimate question. Where can you see opportunity right now in your life?

I know for myself I have become more spiritually active. And I don't mean I'm begging God to make it stop. I mean that this situation has made me evaluate what life is really about. I see this as an opportunity to come back to what is authentic.

I've realized that, financially, there isn't going to be a middle class for much longer. I can no longer "just get by". There won't be such a thing. So I have also been trying to put what I know into practice: to utilize my talent and skills. I also went back to school to increase what I know and, therefore, what I can apply.

I just wanted to put this out there. I get scared about what's going to happen. I don't know what to do. And maybe some of you feel the same way. I know that it helps me to re-frame it this way and I thought it might help you also.

It is weird and many people think I am nuts that is why I tend to not share my opinion with many, I do truly belive and I see everything as an opportunity right now and has been for last few months.

I don't think that stems from the current situation but maybe a shift in my own perceptive reality.

I also avoid people who do nothing but describe how gloomy the days have been because of the current economic situation. I don't deny it but I do avoid it.

Good posts, mercury and AG. I totally agree with you guys. Yes we do have a situation in front of us, but where there is darkness there is also light. There are many opportunities right now for businesses due to people's values changing because they are having to budget a little more. Similarly, I am focusing on spirit as well. Getting in touch with that side of life has helped me cope with everything else that is going on.

Perspective is definitely the key. You guys hit it right on the spot.

You do not have to buy into this whole crisis thing. This is just the result of so many people complaining about the economy. If the economic situation is bad for some, it should not be bad for you. It is for you to choose.

Just enjoy what you do and everything will lign up for you. If you look at the state of the economy and focus on how bad things are, they will definitely be bad for you.

You are in control of your own destiny, no one else is (unless you think they are and then you make it so)

Thanks for the responses... I agree that "your focus becomes your reality". Maybe I'll make that the new signature to remind me for a while.

I was thinking today about the amount of opportunities there are to help each other. The natural reaction to recessions or depressions is to horde everything you have because you don't know if there will be more. This creates animosity between people, an underlying distrust. I think being generous is a good way to counteract that tendency. I don't necessarily mean money either. Generosity can take a lot of different forms, the least of which being money.

About hoarding. People who hoard money and other things have lack mindset. They think that there is little to come so they try to save as much as possible. But such people never have enough because of such attitude.

When you spend money and you are afraid that no more money is coming in, you will block yourself from getting more money.

When you spend money freely and happily, more money will quickly come into your reality.

I am in writing mode today so I thought I will add this...

There are definitely opportunities in this current economic climate. It's important to be realistic but optimistic too.

Things could very well get much worse before they get better. I don't agree with many posters here. Their views are unrealistic and formed during a booming economy for the past 15 years. The road to enlightenment isn't paved with "happy thoughts" and ignoring the reality of the current economic situation is naive. Saving a little bit of money and even food for a rainy day is a good idea.

Stay flexible and keep your eyes peeled for opportunities. Personally, farming is one area that I believe will be very important in the future and that is a career I'm exploring right now.

I see the opportunity to. I actually recently manifested a higher paying, better job in this economic climate. I also have a online business opportunity that I am going to be working on this summer directly related to the crisis we are in now. I totally agree that you do create your own reality. I also believe that we need to be aware what is going on in our country so that we can protect ourselves in the future.

If you want to stock food etc, you can do it with the mindset of sharing with your neighbors in need when the time comes. Try to see yourself as being successful and prosperous even though all around there may be people who are affected by the crisis. I do not say much to people around me about how bad things are ( even though it is BAD ) I do not engage in negative "woe is me" conversations.

I am not denying the economic crisis,( I am really keeping up to date on what is going on according to our media and through alternative media). However, I am not seeing myself being affected negatively by the crisis - if that makes any sense.
