Making Big Money from Parrots - from Bob Cringely

Hey all,

This is my first proper post (after my intro) and I hope you find it interesting - I'm sure that the title has piqued some people's curiosity!

As a budding info-entrepreneur myself I'm always interested in reading about sites that make money selling e-products online. But being a natural cynic I'm always skeptical about many of the claims made. I also don't have any interest in reading about how someone makes lots of money selling e-products online about how to make money selling e-products online (confusing I know)! It's all a bit circular for me!

So yesterday I found a site about how a young Indian guy makes lots of money by selling an e-book about taking care of parrots from his website at www.ParrotSecrets.com!

And the author of the site is not a guy who sells information products about how to make money online selling e-products - Robert Cringely. He's actually quite famous in the Internet world.

There are some interesting views in the comments to the article - both for and against the whole concept. In particular, some people call it a scam.
I personally don't agree. Many people get into certain types of business without knowing everything about it, and still achieve great things, and learn along the way. Also, although the owner of ParrotSecrets may not have owned a parrot or known about them when he started the project, I'm sure he know alot about them now. Maybe he even has one.

I wonder do any contributors to these forums have / know about similar sites to ParrotSecrets i.e. sites about solving people's everyday problems (and not about how to make money on the internet) and which actually make decent money.
