In the next 4 years I'm going to finish formal education. By the end of it I would like to be able to move out and be earning atleast a "avarage" amount. Enough to live on. I don't want to end up like so many people living with there parents trying to make there career sucseed. I'm pretty confident that in the next few years I will achive atleast some financial sucsess through my own buessness and investments. But what if I don't enough to achive my goal of moving out at the age most people do "after education". There are other things for me to take into consideration such as, I would like to go travleing after education, I want to live somewhere other than the uk, prefribly America or Australia, I also would like to get a part time job at an art gallery for a few years. Because being an art dealer is something I would like to pursue, and a gallery is the best place to learn how to. Well that's my situation, but I would like to hear what you done and how it worked out for you. Thanks. X |

I went to university 200 miles away from my parents so I effectively moved out of home at 18, rather than at 22 which is when I finished my degree. I got a job and continued to pay my rent! No big deal really. I'd been doing it for 4 years by then. (We didn't have to pay tuition fees then so my student debts were around £5k rather than the £000s people leave with now). Looking back now I didn't have much confidence in myself and I was dealing with beliefs that I didn't deserve much etc etc. If I knew then what I know now I would have taken a completely different line of work. I would have saved like anything to be able to afford some travel. I wouldn't have spent all my money on going out and partying most nights! I wouldn't have taken entry level admin jobs thinking I would work my way up the company. I would have created a clear plan about what I wanted and sought to get it. I'm 34 now and I'm just working out what I want to be when I grow up! |
